Penmar Golf Course is a quirky and fun little gem tucked away in the heart of Venice. As someone who is relatively new to the game of golf, I was a bit intimidated by the thought of playing at a course that had been around since 1916. But as soon as I stepped onto the first tee box, I knew I was in for a memorable experience.
The course itself is short and sweet, with nine holes that wind through a picturesque park setting. The fairways are relatively forgiving, but the greens can be a bit tricky, which makes for a fun and challenging game. And the best part? The views are simply spectacular, with palm trees swaying in the breeze and the nearby Santa Monica Mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
But beyond the beauty of the course itself, what I love most about Penmar is the sense of community and camaraderie that pervades the place. From the friendly staff to the fellow golfers out on the course, everyone is welcoming and supportive, eager to share tips and tricks to help improve your game.
And speaking of community, I have to give a special shout-out to the Penmar Men's Golf Club, which has been an amazing resource for me as I've worked to improve my golf skills. The members are a fantastic group of guys who are passionate about the game and eager to help newcomers like myself get more involved in the sport. Thanks to them, I've not only improved my golf game, but also made some great new friends along the way.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun and quirky golf experience in the heart of Venice, look no further than Penmar Golf Course. With its beautiful setting, welcoming community, and challenging yet forgiving course, it's a place that will leave you feeling grateful for the game of golf and the wonderful people who love it as...
Read moreWe showed up to the tee box ready to check in 6 minutes before the tee time after Crystal, the "marshall", called our party incorrectly two times. We were genuinely confused.
When we got up to the tee box, with more than enough time to get to the first tee, she let us know that she had deleted our tee time. We prepaid this for $48. She didn't care- we were SOL.
She then put us on a tee time ten minutes later and behaved as though she did us a favor, but not before charging us another $24.
It's clear Crystal knew she made a mistake by cancelling our tee time, for which we were completely on time for, but did nothing to correct it. It was embarrassing for us as she made a scene around everyone else behind us. What she did ultimately amounted to theft.
I think the general manager should reflect on whether or not this is reasonable behavior. She seemed to act with impunity- when we asked to speak to someone else, she said "no."
Please beware of this woman. She is not a professional and seems to hate her job. If general management reads this, please reply and we will tell you about our experience, for which there were...
Read moreAte at the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. They should definitely work on their service. The servers we had contact with seemed very inconvenienced by us in general. We sat down at a table outside as its seat yourself and the busser came over and told us we had to get up for him to clean the table. There were some water cups and glasses left so we tried to move them and he told us no and to stand up, so we got up and he wouldnât let us sit back down until he had taken the glasses back and then returned and wiped down the table. He was very rude about it, flinging his rag all over the place, and didnât communicate with us very well about what he was doing - just saying ânoâ. Then once we sat down we had to flag down a waiter as no one had come to take our order after 15 mins. The food took about 45 mins to come out. Everytime we needed something we had to flag someone down, no one was stopping by at any point. The food (chilaquiles pictured) wasnât bad but we were very let down by the experience and...
