This review is about my experience at this place. There were 4 of us, last Thursday night at around 8. Sat down ordered drinks and food, and started talking, drinking, talking and talking.... 45 minutes later food didn't arrive , so our waitress came and apologized for the delay without giving us a reason why it's taking so long, but fine. She offered us chips for the wait, two rounds of chips and salsa and no food on the horizon. NADA! Oh and if you think she was so generous offering us chips and salsa as an apology for the ridiculous wait like any good place would have done, you're wrong, the bill came and we were charged for it! After more than 1 hour, the food started to arrive with a 10 minute delay between each of our plates even though two of them were the same, so some of us finished before the other's food even arrived..... My tri-tip was cold! after more than an hour wait it came cold like really???????!!!! If it was done long ago why wasn't it brought to the table while it was still hot?! The rest of the food was fine, I have to be honest the mac n cheese was the best I have ever had and the fries were good. Even though the food was good, I would never ever come here again, obviously there was a big issue in the kitchen but the way it was handled extremely wrong. Any other decent place would have informed its customers about the wait and probably in return would have just offered them at least complimentary chips, not for what they cost but just showing the customers that they actually care about them coming back again. An hour + wait for cold tri tip is...

I think this place has potential. First, the food. The BBQ tri-tip was done perfectly and tasty. However, their BBQ sauces (at least the ones I received) are all too sweet, which is not a good complement to the tri-tip. The vegetables side also had some sort of sweet glaze, which wasn’t good. The collard greens are underdone and lack seasoning or taste — so those need some work. The barbacoa taco also was lacking in taste, too bland. So, overall the food was hit and miss, but has the right foundations to be great, with a little work. The atmosphere itself, I could see being great on a nice warm sunny day. Totally open, would have a good vibe. On a cold, grey LA day, however, the everything-open situation was downright cold and not at all comfortable (at lease close all the wide open windows in the dining room! On a grey day a fireplace of some sort would really liven things up in there). So, potential for the BBQ is there. Everything else needs work, except the ordering, service, and...

First time eating here and I think its great.

The Staff is VERY Friendly. Nice beers and a cool atmosphere.

I had the Mesquite burger and a side of Mac and Cheese.

The burger had a great flavor, smokey, nicely seasoned. The bun wasnt overwhelming. The grilled onions could have been cooked a bit more but thats being hypercritical. The sauce was supposed to be spicy mayo, there was no kick.

Mac and cheese was awesome! I feel like it had some ricotta and was served in a cast iron plate that keeps it very hot.

I cant find the menu anywhere but I dont get how this is Mexican BBQ.

Tri tip, pulled pork, burgers, fries.... mac and cheese.... doesnt really feel Mexican but perhaps theres some stuff on the menu that Im missing.

I left full, happy and eager to come...

The drink selection was decent, good ciders. Michilada was ok. The calamari was delightfully prepared without being over breaded, it was nicely seasoned and paired with a tangy butter lemon sauce and there were several peppers too that added a nice flavor with little to no spice. The Bananarama dessert it light, creamy and full of flavor. Looking forward to coming back to try more items off the menu because everything we ordered and tried was worth reordering and all the other food that came out looked and smelled amazing!
