Stopped in for my first time for brunch because I was really excited to have breakfast right near a golf course in a really tranquil setting. It’s attached to a large free parking lot, but it fills up quickly due to the popularity of the public course. The restaurant itself is quite large and they have plenty of indoor seating as well as covered outdoor seating which is where we sat. We had a great view of the practice green as well as one of the holes. Our server was very polite however they were out of power to part of the restaurant so they could not serve any warm drinks so sadly no coffee.
We started off with the Raspberry Cruffin and thought it was honestly fantastic. I would highly suggest ordering it if you see it there. It’s basically a croissant and muffin combined with raspberry sauce in the middle. For my meal, I chose the Eggs Benedicto which was a chorizo Eggs Benedict. I thought it was very good and I really enjoyed the side fruit. I also ordered a Greek Salad and thought it was pretty good although the portions were a little unbalanced. I wish there would’ve been more onion and a little more tomato. I would recommend it though if you like those flavors.
Overall, a really nice breakfast option in Venice and I do plan to give it another try in the...
Read moreWe loved this place and have frequented it for years. The Friday concerts were awesome too and very fun and family oriented. Unfortunately, they have become greedy: expensive drinks and food, low quality fast unhealthy choices, extremely overpriced for what you get and the tiny drinks( 3 sips and it’s all ice) for $35 for 2 small cups. Extremely rude and arrogant door staff- who don’t even allow unopened water. Parking is a headache, the up to 2 hours wait to get in, filthy bathrooms, long lines for everything from bathrooms, entry, difficulty to pay with weird app. Overall not worth the hype. The social media boosted their popularity but the service has been beyond poor and the costs are ridiculous. There are so many great concert venues without the BS rudeness and over the top priced on everything. NO Longer fun - maybe come on an off day and enjoy the green. You can’t even hear the music and need to pay again after paying to get in for a headset to be able to hear the music. It’s probably better not to drink because you will be in the bathroom line for an hour. Be careful if you bring your puppy, we saw one get killed by an out of control pitbull there. So...
Read moreA really cool restaurant at the Penmar public 9-hole golf course. They fully-renovated the restaurant a few years ago, and now I actually go and eat there when I'm NOT GOLFING. Its a charming golf course restaurant with ample outdoor seating, but limited indoor seating. I live wirhin a 3 min drive away, and can walk down the hill to this golf course restaurant. It has a "country club" restaurant vibe. "BOUGEE/Bougie" has been described as "someone who's considered middle class yet wants to be upper class and is determined to live a wealthier, flashier, more lavish lifestyle.: Hmm, describes "The Penmar."
They have a nice variety of beers on tap as well as a full bar for cocktails. But I go for the food, but the menu changes. The first time we had wings, gourmet hot dogs, burgers and tacos. Tonight, I got the Philly cheesesteak with provolone, grilled peppers and onions. It was delicious!
The negative is that it...
