The upside to the Wooden Horse is that one can pick out almost any toy in stock and it will be a good, quality toy. Being a "store", one can expect to pay more for a given toy than buying it on-line or elsewhere but the time savings and the benefit of buying "local" have, in the past, outweighed cost savings. Recently however I bought a Lego gift and noticed afterwards the added cost of buying it at the Wooden Horse was much higher than it was in the past. I paid a 30% premium for buying the product at the Wooden Horse vs at the Lego Store. This has crossed a line for me. They go to their warehouse and bring back a selection for me to choose from! Not only are the staff caring, but they have sommelier level knowledge of toys. If you can’t find what you need on their shelves, they can tell you where to look, whether it’s another local toy store or a brand you might not know about. I’d give them six stars if I could.
