I don't usually write reviews as I thought I was keeping Artemis and the amazing folks that run it a great little secret to myself but it's pretty obvious that if you have been in business these days for 30+ years that you are probably doing something right! I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Artemis for most of those years both as a consignor and a buyer and not once have I had an issue with them and this is many many transactions to take into consideration. I have the utmost trust and confidence in them for the pieces they sell for me and for the treasures I buy from them. They are 1000% honest, hard working and fair with a strong moral compass. I have been completely happy with the results and sales they have achieved for me. Super easy folks to work with and their communication is excellent from start to finish. You can have full faith in this company as they are one of the only auction houses I know that will also let you return items if you are not happy for some reason. Our little art community needs people like Artemis in these challenging times. These are the type of people you want to be surrounded by. Let's spread kindness together and the love for the arts that we all admire and enjoy. Thank you Artemis for all that you are and do in this world. I appreciate...
Read moreMy opinion: buyer beware. I purchased a purported "Mesopotamian Stone Stamp Seal ca. 3500 BCE" through an online auction house from Artemis Fine Arts. Along with pictures of the seal , there was a picture of a type written description signed by a notable expert in the field. This typewritten description with the signature was supposed to be part of the lot and delivered with the stamp seal. However when the stamp seal was delivered to me there was no type written note with a signature only their own Certification of Authenticity. I was very careful and unpacking everything in the delivery and was one hundred percent confident that I had not lost it. In itself, the signed description was a valuable item and should not have just been placed into the envelope with the COA, I asked them about it, and after a few days of "looking", they claimed they could not find it and initially tried to just dismiss the loss with an apology and "occasionally things like this can happen". They did ultimately refund to me all of my money ($400), but I thought it was bizarre that they did not ask me to send the stone stamp seal...
Read moreThis is my second review. I almost always refuse to post like this, but after so many great experiences with Artemis, and then reading negative reviews here, I had to,
I have been a customer with Artemis for many years. Their attention to detail and expertise continue to amaze me. I feel total confidence in their authentication, provenance and description of every item. Their knowledge and obvious passion for art and antiquities has not been equaled in my experience.
The negative reviews I have seen here seem to consist of individuals unhappy with waiting. They aren’t reviewing much other than their own impatience. Sometimes these things take time. It is obvious from the responses of the Artemis team they will take care of every difficulty and make sure each customer is happy, if that is actually possible. Apparently, here and everywhere, some people cannot be satisfied and make a point of being vindictive.
Artemis is the best in the trade. Experts with conscientious customer service. Guaranteed. You will not be disappointed. I have only satisfaction to...
