I purchased a home in 2013 and one of the selling points was the recently remodeled bathroom. In October 2024, I discovered this remodeled shower was leaking.

Lucky for me, the PO and Classic Cabinets name was on the vanity during demo to help me give customers a long term review of the longevity of their work. During demo, I discovered screws in the PVC liner at the mortar bed, which is a rookie move. The liner was not pre-sloped resulting in water retention and contributed to the mold at the curbing where multiple drywall screws also punctured any waterproofing in place. In some spots, the liner went up the wall a maximum of 1 inch, barely above the mortar bed.

This company utilized metal, drywall edging like it was going out of style along with paper backed edging all over the shower enclosure. No amount of sealing or cleaners we're going to stop the mold from coming back. It's probably time for a tetanus booster after the demo.

I don't expect compensation as I didn't choose this company, but want to let others know that looks can be deceiving and if you want to invest into a lifetime install, looks somewhere else or be prepared to redo the work in 10-15 years.

Maybe things have changed or this was a one off, but given the questionable installation, I suspect other installs were done the exact same way during the 2012 time period. This sort of work from a contractor gives all talented and ethically sound businesses a bad reputation.

If you choose this company, pull the permits and have their work inspected. Do some research on YouTube and understand the process to ensure they are doing it right. Before I knew the contractor to blame, I was referring to the work as Cheap-Showers-R-Us to my friends and colleagues about my...

Classic Cabinets did a fabulous job on our complete kitchen remodel (as well as installing stone tiles in our entry way and by our rear sliding glass doors). It's a one stop shop, very convenient and a great selection of materials. Emma, sales associate, utilized her considerable expertise to assist us in selecting cabinets, counters, tiles, kitchen sink, etc. They provided us a daily work plan and everything was completed on schedule per the plan to the day. Given that there was electrical, plumbing, counters, tiles, paint, dry wall and cabinetry work necessary, this was a significant accomplishment. Charlie, our project manager, oversaw all the work and no detail was too small for him to address. He communicated back to us promptly if we had any questions and resolved any issues on a timely basis as well. We were also extremely impressed by the various workmen and how professional, considerate and skilled they were. They were always willing to accommodate any request we made. We have two neighbors who utilized other contractors for their kitchen remodels and both had awful experiences. This contrasts with our experience with Classic Cabinets which was superlative. We highly recommend this company for your...

I had a terrible experience with this company. At first it all went very well, smooth talking, guarantees that they could give me what I wanted, long discussions about how their product was far superior to others and their service would outshine anyone else's. All that. In the end, I trusted them and paid 1/2 up front and 1/2 on delivery. I was foolish to do that. Although the cabinets were not damaged and looked OK in the box, they did not look right when I had them mounted! When I tried to have them redone or fixed Mark Hawkins (the owner) flat out refused to consider ANY COMPENSATION. Not replacing the cabinets, not allowing me to return at least the doors for a partial refund so that I could afford to get new doors through a different company, not even offering a discount. Nothing. I found his behavior rude, insulting, and dishonorable (once full payment had been made). I work for a living and these cabinets were expensive. I cannot afford to pay more money to fix what he made a mess of. This has left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole remodel and really just makes me sick inside. There is a world of honorable people/companies out there - find one of them to work with. NOT Classic Cabinets & Design...

Classic Cabinets and Design is a great company! The two bathroom projects they completed for us turned out so beautifully! Emma Grubb was our designer and she is skilled at assisting in making choices for design and materials. She really knows her stuff! Fun looking at tile, cabinets, counters, fixtures etc-so many excellent options. Emma really helped us pull it all together. Everything was spelled out in the bid, exactly what we were paying for. All the contractors were skilled and considerate-neither of the cats got out the doors! The work was done efficiently and they stayed on schedule. We were given a calendar with the days each contractor were to be here. It was followed pretty much right on. They dealt with snags in the projects and took them in stride. We had a damp subfloor and they took care of it no problem. Charlie Ruth was our General Contractor. He was very conscientious both in checking in to make sure the work was done accurately and also seeing if we had any questions and answering them quickly. We are extremely happy with the way both the master and hall bathrooms turned out. We look forward to having them do our kitchen in a couple years!
