If you are interested in quality product and service for your window coverings this is the place for you. I emailed IO around Christmas and was shocked to receive an email back very quickly. They scheduled me on Saturday for the following Monday and the lovely Susan came right out as expected. We were very impressed with her knowledge and ideas for window coverings in our home. When we received the quote we were a bit surprised and looked online to find something less expensive. After realizing only Hunter Douglas makes exactly what we were looking for, and being impressed with the service and time Susan spent with us, we decided to spend the extra money on our new home. Turns out spending that extra money was the absolute BEST choice we could have made. Susan spent even more time with us with when we decided to make some changes and remained positive and patient the entire time. Gary came to install our window coverings a month later and sure enough, he was friendly, professional, and it was very obvious he knows EXACTLY what he is doing. In half a day he installed 20 window coverings, making adjustments as needed to accommodate my picky personality. There are post-installation adjustments I want made and they are happy to accommodate as they said they would. Overall we are extremely pleased with the quality and operation of the Hunter Douglass coverings. Again, with IO you are paying for quality of service and quality of product in an era where both are difficult to find.

I wrote the negative review below earlier this summer after having the problems identified but since then they have responded to me several times, have visited my home and did a detailed inspection of my awning and fixed items requested at no cost. I also was able to finally order a new valence which was installed on Oct 27th. All has been fixed and their communication and service has improved immensely. I have changed my new review to 4 stars vs the previous 1 star.

I purchased a motorized Sunesta awning from them in Jul 2011 (order no 267446 for $4725.00) and also had it promptly serviced in July 2015 when the manual sunshade jammed. However, last year and this summer I needed help with replacing the covering valence which is worn and torn and the manual sun shade that is again jammed and they will not respond to my several phone calls last summer or my 3 phone calls this summer or to my description of work needed filled out on their own website. I was very satisfied with the large awning (12'X12') when it was installed in 2011and the servicing in 2015 but now I cannot get any help to repair and replace items mentioned above. Appears they do not want to support their product now as I get no responses to voice messages left or call backs after talking to a person on the first call this summer or to my project description on their website. My experience with Innovative Openings over the years has been awful. When we first moved into our home in 1990, I used this company to design a very unique and pretty shade and valence treatment for my daughter's room. While the treatment is good, not great, my experience with the woman who came to our home was pretty bad. She was very haughty and rude. When one of our cords broke in our bathroom shade, my husband received a quote of $25 to repair it from a gentleman on the phone. He drove over and dropped it off. They needed him to measure the blind that it matched, and he did - 39". When he picked up the repaired cord, the cost was double - $50 - and the length is 44". Totally unreliable company. We are replacing all our shades in the master bedroom and definitely won't be using...
