I visited yesterday because my fiance purchased a gift card for me at Christmas. I suppose I'd been putting off going for a fitting because I thought it would be awkward, and because I didn't think I desperately needed a different fit. However, I could not have been more wrong!

It wasn't awkward. (It was fun!) And I was definitely in the wrong size. (Like, very very wrong.)

Elizabeth greeted me for my fitting, offered a glass of prosecco, and explained what to expect about the process. (The owner's daughter was also there at the time, by coincidence, and was also delightfully helpful!) The results of the fitting were pretty shocking. I've been off by several sizes my entire life and, while I felt kind of stupid about it, there wasn't an ounce of judgement. Elizabeth showed me what wasn't working about my current bra fit and what did work (or didn't, in some cases, not every bra is for every woman, as I learned!) about it on my specific body.

I can see how someone who has had terrible experiences with bra shopping their whole life might have had a completely transformative experience here, which is pretty great. I've had a complex my entire life about being small chested, but it turns out I just didn't understand and appreciate my own body. That's powerful for a woman.

As I checked out, Elizabeth logged notes in their point of sale system about my preferences, size, and wish list items for my reference (and my fiance's). In fact, while I was there a husband and wife came in so the woman could say, "See hon! This is the spot! They have notes about what I like on file." Elizabeth greeted the husband and assured him they'd do all the work for him and he could just enjoy the experience with a craft beer in a leather chair she pointed out. The husband seemed pleased, if not shocked.

Their selection was fantastic; I tried on over a dozen styles, several of which were beautifully made French and Italian. I highly recommend Underpinnings because of their exceptional service and quality of their products. Will return, likely with a small party of women for a private...

Long story!

I didn't know this shop existed until I looked for specialty bra shops. Previously, I had been fitted at Soma and was measured at a 42G. That bra seemed great for a few hours, but was uncomfortable for all day wear. I used the site ABraThatFits and got 40K as a starting point. After an attempt to buy a bra online failed, I made an appointment at Underpinnings.

The associate that helped me listened to what I had done, what I liked, and what I disliked in bras. She took a few quick measurements and started shopping. After a few tries, we had a great fit with 38K. She then grabbed more in that size to find ones that shaped and supported in a way I liked.

When I was frustrated because I couldn't fasten the bras behind my back, she suggested an extender just during the breaking in period, assuring me that soon I could do it with no problem. I relaxed and purchased two bras. Both are amazing. I am using the extenders but in two days, I'm already fastening faster and farther in.

Bra shopping can be very stressful when you are plus sized or wear sizes that are hard to find at the mall. Underpinnings took that stress away. I didn't feel judged and the associate was so helpful. She clearly knew her stuff and wanted the customers to have a great experience.

I will be recommending Underpinnings to everyone who needs bra and I'll be shopping there for mine...

Wow!! I'm still on cloud 9. This was one of the best things, I've ever done for myself.

34G is hard to find, most are granny bras. Not here....so many gorgeous options. I actually bought her first pick! And 2 others. Plus a magical crop top tank.

The hardest part, was narrowing down what to get. You know...budgets.

I never once felt self conscious. They literally put them ON FOR YOU.

I already told all my friends. I cannot wait to go back.

Bonus, my bf loved them all. And can go buy me things on my wish list.
