Has a lot of potential to be better. I’d rank it a 3.5 out of 5 if I could, due to the service being good.
Price for two people with an appetizer and one soft drink was only $30 before tip, which I think is a good price.
Would not recommend the fried pickles. Way too salty. All of the food was prepared ahead of time, some was flash fried after ordering, which was disappointing. Everything came out extremely fast, like maybe 10 minutes after ordering, again, due to everything being prepared beforehand.
Atmosphere was nice. Definitely a sports bar esthetic. If I got an appetizer again I would try something different than fried pickles. The cheddar biscuits were good. Small and had a sweeter flavor like cornbread.
Fries were homemade, along with everything else appearing to be made in house. Chicken was extremely hot, but unfortunately you could tell it was cooked long beforehand and then heated up in the fryer after ordering. It was decent, but having it not be fresh was a huge letdown. Service was great and efficient. Would probably go back once more, but if it’s not much improved the next time I probably...
Read moreWaldo's is still fairly new to the area, but our first experience was very positive. Everything we ordered came out right and it was all very good. Overall the quality was not significantly better than Raising Cane's, but the menu has a lot more variety and it's a sit-down restaurant with table service. Our party tried the club sandwich, tender meals, fried pickles, and cheddar biscuits. I personally tried all three tacos and several sauces. My personal preference is for the tender sauce and the standard taco; although the others were fine, I wouldn't bother ordering them again. All the food was very good; chicken seems to be standard tenders rather than the larger "breast tenders" that some restaurants serve. The cheddar biscuits are more like cornbread muffins, but I'm not complaining--they were very good and tasted very fresh and came with fresh whipped butter. Overall the place was very busy but we had great service. If you live in Norton Commons, this is a great place to walk when you're craving chicken, but I wouldn't necessarily drive from across town. I think next time I'd like to try the bucket...
Read moreNice, lively place in the heart of norton commons. Friendly staff. Decided to have dinner, started with the fried pickles aka sodium bomb. Every chip was salty. The accompanying sauce did not help. The cheddar biscuits, very tasty. I will definitely order those again. The brother in law ordered the foul mouth sandwich and as you can see, the "coleslaw" that was supposed to be on the sandwich. The sandwich is namesake spicy. I guess depends on person to person. I ordered half of the roasted chicken. The chicken was done well, wasn't overwhelmed with a lot of seasoning but you can tell, it had been sitting for a while. I thought of ordering mac n cheese and collard greens for the two sides and the server suggested to order something else. I ordered potato wedges and the tomato and cucumber salad. No regrets. The wings are great size, bigger than most wing places. They are not fried and are not breaded which was fine with me but after sitting in the warmer for a bit, the wings got a little tougher. I have had their strips and they are good. I will definitely go back but will be selective on what I...
