The Barber Mafia (Kurt's Cuts) — Local services in Lovell

I wear my hair super short & have been unable to find a beauty salon that would cut my hair the way it was done in California.

Since I didn't want to keep driving to Wal-Mart in Cody for my hair cut, I decided to try the local barbershop and what a delightful surprise!

The small shop is tucked in between 2 larger buildings on main street, so I almost missed it. The outside reminded me of old fashioned barber shops from the past and, when I stepped inside, I was taken back to my childhood days, while waiting for my Dad or Brother to get their hair cut.

The shop consists of 2 chairs for hair cuts, a long bench and 3 chairs for customers.

It was Friday afternoon and Kurt was busier than a one armed wall paper hanger. There was a young boy getting his hair cut, while his Brother and Dad waited their turn and I made customer number 4.

While I waited, the conversation flowed with the family, along with shared laughter with the youngest boy who told me I "was funny." A high compliment indeed. LOL

2 other customers arrived & when a 3rd came In, Kurt told him it would at least an hours wait and he decided to come back later.

Finally, my turn in the chair. A quick explanation of what I wanted and we were off & running. Kurt worked quickly and efficiently while light conversation flowed and before I knew it he was passing over a mirror so I could check the cut.

The cut was awesome, except for needing a wee bit more off the top, which was quickly resolved. One more look in the mirror and I could tell this young man knew what he was doing as the haircut was TOP SHELF!!

SO... goodbye beauty salons , hello barber shop.

@@@-update. 3rd visit on 8.16.17. Decided to go super short because of the hot weather. Kurt cut the top down to about a 1/4 inch & texturized it so I could still spike it. Then he cleaned up the back & sides & I was good to go.
