Ive been to kranzel's many times when they had theyer store in lemoyne and it was a great shop friendly knowledgeable staff and i got my 1st rc car and went back all the time for repeat business. This is the 1st time ive been to the new store. My wife got me a nitro r/c car for xmas and i needed the essentials. When i went in a young kit said hello. And i told him what i was looking for. He then immediately asked a older gentleman what he needed to get due to he didnt know what i was trying to explain to him the older gentleman went and grabbed exactly what i asked for i then asked about a replacement glow plug for the engine but i didnt know what one u might need looking for some knowledgeable help, the older gentleman again walked away mid sentence and grabbed one off the wall and said this should work.. should... i know a little aboit these but should isnt reassuring that it is the one for my application. I then asked about a electric start kit to convert my pull start to electric. He cut me off mid sentence and said you need the one for that manufacturer of engine. . So im assuming he is a mind reader and knows they dont sell the engine i have in my car.. This type of service has me second guessing the knowledge and friendliness or the staff.. i might look into a different hobby shop to go to for future needs. I used to love this place at the old location but i guess its not the same...
Read moreI had to think about this for a week before deciding to write this. It saddens me to write this review because I have been a Kranzel's customer for many years back when the Father handled daily operations and before they had their association with HobbyTown.
On my last visit I went in to buy paint and other supplies as well as browse the aisles for other "fun stuff". That is what I like about local shops. I don't mind paying more in a brick and mortar store so that I can see, touch and feel what I want to buy.
Unfortunately the Son, who now handles daily operations, discriminates against various segments of the population based on disability. When I tried to explain my disability I was told to leave the store. No one else was in the store at the time, but I was not permitted to shop there.
Freedom loving Americans, I believe we should support our local small business. They are our neighbors, friends and a part of our communities.
But after the way I was discriminated against at Kranzels, I can assure you they will NEVER see another nickel from me. I will drive a little further to a shop that does not discriminate...
Read moreI just tried doing business with this place as I have in the past. I have bought 2 radio controlled trucks there with all the accessories. My son wants to get into rc airplanes so I bought a used radio and some new/used planes off fb market place. I drove an hour to Kranzel's to get our equipment checked out and buy anything else we might need. Pairing the radio to one of the planes was something we also wanted to accomplish. I was told they couldn't do it that day but could maybe do it throughout the week sometime. I asked how long would it take to pair them and the guy said a week. I already understood that they couldn't do it today but I asked 3 times to find out how long it took to do it until I got the answer of "a few minutes." There were 2 other customers in the store. I was willing to leave it there but the guy had an attitude like he didn't want to be bothered. I came there for help and to spend whatever money it took and they weren't interested. I was as polite as possible but we left and will...
