I brought my 2021 Ram 1500 with a 5.7l engine to L&B for the emissions control system recall and a state inspection. They first did the recall, and in so doing, apparently, triggered the check engine light. They failed the state inspection for the check engine light (that they caused to come on). They then did the state inspection. My truck has had auxiliary lights for the past two inspections. The first inspection for my truck was done by them. The second inspection was done by the CDJR dealership in Wrightsville, PA. The car passed inspection. This time around, they failed the inspection because my auxiliary lights did not have covers on them (which was never an issue in the prior inspections). According to the PA Vehicle Inspection Manual, Section E relating to Passenger Cars and Light Trucks, section 175.66 relating to Lighting and Electrical System, paragraph (l) [l as in lame] relating to “Auxiliary Driving Lamps and Fog Lamps,” there is no provision calling for them to be covered at all. Here is the relevant subsection (F):
(F) Off-road lighting.--Off-road lighting lamps may be mounted on the roof or roll bar of a vehicle and shall be covered with an opaque covering that prohibits any light from being emitted when the vehicle is being operated on a highway or trafficway. Any person who illuminates an off-road lighting lamp while the vehicle is being operated on a highway or a trafficway commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $100.
I do not have any roof lights nor do I have a roll bar installed. The service desk technician said that this was a discretionary decision by the inspector. I said there are no discretionary aspects relating to these provisions; either they fail or they don’t fail – it’s fairly black and white. He disagreed. I spent my time and $64. By the way, when they delivered the vehicle to me, there were no engine lights on. I urge you not to bring your car here for recalls or state inspections as they seem to be incompetent and this will result in you having wasted your time and money...
Read moreAt the end of last week, we had inquired about a used vehicle at this facility. We were contacted by representatives of Savage L&B Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM at 11:00am on Friday morning. We had scheduled an appointment at 4:15 pm (the first available time per the online service that contacted us) to look at and test drive the vehicle. We arrived for our appointment, to be told that the vehicle had been sold THE DAY PRIOR. Again, the dealership contacted us and we scheduled an appointment THAT DAY. There was no courtesy call to let us know that the vehicle was no longer available. Instead, both my husband and I left work early to travel an hour to the dealership to be told by the sales representative that “this kind of thing happens all the time”. Would we have been disappointed if the vehicle sold? Sure. But disappointed is an understatement for the lack there of communication between the dealership and those they hire to schedule test drives. We were told that the person that schedules doesn’t even work in the office and often times are not updated in a timely manner of changes in vehicle availability. This tells me that their system is clearly flawed and dysfunctional. Was there a manager to speak to? Of course not. I write this review in the hopes that this event doesn’t happen to another individual who is looking to purchase a vehicle from this facility. We have taken our business elsewhere and purchased a vehicle from Sterling Motors in Ephrata and they had excellent customer service, communication skills and were very efficient in all departments from sales to finance. I hope that this review allows Savage L&B Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM to reevaluate their current operations so that the next young family won’t be as angered by the current issues and basically told “too bad” when faced with the same situation, that is apparently a known issue...
Read moreI recently returned to Savage L&B to purchase a new car and once again they exceeded all expectations. As returning customers, we were already familiar with their excellent service, but this was next level, especially when compared to our disappointing experiences at Audi, Acura, Lincoln, and BMW. From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel like family.
Our sales consultant, Abby S, took the time to really listen to what we were looking for, answered all of questions, and ensured we were getting the car we truly wanted. There was no pressure, just honest advice and patience which made the whole process enjoyable. The GM, Joey M, was very accommodating and his appreciation as returning customers was evident. The car was beautifully detailed inside and out as we completed paperwork, making the entire process smooth from trade-in to driving away in a new car.
The Customer Care from all staff involved in our experience exceeded expectations. Abby went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied, even walking us through all the features of our new car and checking in days later.
The entire team at Savage L&B made sure we had a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish. It’s rare to find such exceptional service and we will definitely be returning in the future!
We highly recommend Savage L&B to anyone looking for a trustworthy, customer-first experience. Thank you,...
