I know that, sometimes, it is hard to trust reviews.
In my situation, the rental company asked me to make a review because I had stopped by to thank them for something they had done well. I was asked to be honest and straightforward.
My family and I have lived here for 1 year. We chose it for its location and price point. While we wish the price were $100 less each month, the fact is that we haven't found a better deal in a better location in Ardmore.
We've been happy with the customer service of the rental company. They are friendly, fast, and focused on solving complaints. I've mentioned several suggestions to them over this past year-- all of which have been fixed or addressed in some way: key chamber inside main door was worn down and needed to be fixed, laundry machines and rooms needed to be cleaned, drains got plugged with hair, a waterbug in our apartment, etc.
One area for improvement is that the rental company could do a better job of informing residents when there is major building cleaning or road work. For example, we were told that there would be exterior power washing that would last for several days-- however, it would have been nice to have known which sections would be done on which days. The activity was very loud, and a warning to help tenants pre-plan would have been a courtesy for people who need to sleep during the day, or work from home. Another example is repaving of the apartment parking lot that lasted several days. I don't believe we were adequately informed of the length or potential impact of this project (e.g. park farther away, noise, budget more time to get out of parking lot, etc.).
I hope this is helpful! I was not given any compensation nor did I receive any special privileges for this review.
June 2019 UPDATE: Since the original review, Harrison Richards (HR) noticeably provided more advance communications about repairs and initiatives that impacted residents. I'm grateful for their willingness to take constructive feedback. One aspect of this process really surprised me: HR took special care to communicate the resolution of decisions they made based upon input I provided. I received dispatches on company letterhead that responded directly to any recommendations I made. Kudos to HR for being so responsive to...
Read moreWe lived here during Nov/2009-Aug/2013. Lots of good memories at this place to cherish. When I moved in I wasn't much confident about the property. Property had old windows. Because my apt balcony was facing Montgomery Ave, it was loud esp during the rainy days. BUT, I couldn't believe the way the management has upgraded and maintained this property. The current condition of the property is no way comparable to the condition when I moved back in 2009. They replaced all the windows and balcony door in the building which has made our apartment a super quiet one. My friends who live in other close community admit that my apt is quieter than theirs. The managements turn around time to address or resolve any maintenance request always amazed me. And I really liked their email mode of correspondence for any service request and follow-up. Because the apartment had more than enough storage space, I never had to rent their additional storage space at the basement.
The property is very convenient in terms of public transport, farmers market, grocery, shopping, school, restaurants, coffee shops, YMCA etc. Good part is.. everything is just walk able.
I personally thank Helen, Pat, Kelsey and all the staff of the building for being friendly and making our stay a memorable and pleasing one all these years.
Also, I want to thank the management for making my move out process a smoother one. I have never seen a management providing the apt cleaning tips & check list during the move out process. It was really help full and handy cleaning my apt before move out. And it really saved my security deposit back :)
I am so happy!!! And I highly...
Read moreI have deleted my first review about the Montgomery Plaza, which was written after completed one year of rental, since my experience has changed. My first experience was not overall good; I got particularly frustrated when I got my car towed in the building parking lot, after having several minor instances with the unit over one year. However, I extended my contract for personal reasons , and in the following two years, I could witnessed progressively changes by the manager, with new effort to address my concerns in order to regain my trust in the administration, so that I felt it was fair to provide a new input at the google review website. The management has been sensible to my inquiries and very efficient in answering my concerns , and open and flexible to the leasing contract as well. I hope this second review can give you a more accurate idea of the building community after 3...
