Very disappointing experience. Went into the store with very specific needs. A dishwasher and microwave. I wanted to shop local and not a big box store. I had quotes and estimated delivery times from several other stores so I could compare. We were working with a sales person and when I inquired about the price difference with them and a big box, a member of the founding family walked by and under his breathe mentioned the other store's delivery was more than 2 weeks out. Well, he was wrong with his information. And I found it rude and disappointing that he could not stop and say that to us directly or explain to us why their service, etc was better than other store.
We did end up going with Sanatoga, as even through their prices were slightly higher, we felt it was important to go local. Fast forward to delivery and install. The microwave was first. Paul, their installer, is amazing and the reason they even have one star for this review. He brought the microwave and installed it and tested it. Everything worked except the actual microwave part. I appreciated that he tested everything. Not many installers do everything - and he did. So he took it out and said he would be able to be back in two days. Great - he came back and installed it, no problems in round 2.
Next our dishwasher came a few weeks later which we knew would be that case. Paul again came and took out our dishwasher and then came back in the house without anything. The new dishwasher he brought to install was damaged in the box. He said they normally checked them but this one was not checked.
He came back in 2 days with a new one and installed it. We reached out to Sanatoga Appliance, as Paul is contracted separately and not an employee, and have not heard back from them after more than a week . I would think they would want to follow-up with clients who had not one but two issues, yet we have not heard anything. I thought buying local was a good thing and we could get things handled in a better fashion, but I guess...
Read moreI've purchased many appliances here and have NEVER had a problem until my last purchase. The new dryer purchased was not drying our clothes no matter the cycle. I called and left a message. After hours of no return call, I called again but spoke to an employee who took my name and phone number. By early evening, I still had not received a call so my husband called. He was told that someone would be out the next day and took his phone number. The next day, he did not get a call so he called again and spoke to a different employee. This employee stated she would call the manager and return his call with a time someone would be out. He did receive a call back and was told the manager would be out around 2:30. Around 3:30, the manager showed up. He said if the dryer heats up and not drying you have a clog. He looked at the dryer, looked at the outside vent and looked and the piping in the basement. Our old dryer did not have this problem so we were pretty sure it was the dryer or installation. Had the manager pulled out the dryer from the platform, he would have seen what his installers did (see photo). We absolutely had a clog but it was due to the installation of a new hose that was ridiculously long and squished behind the dryer. My husband had to hold the dryer so I could squeeze behind it to shorten the hose and uncrimp it. I'm wondering why the manager didn't think his installers could be the problem? I'm really disappointed in the way the problem was handled. Pushing the blame on us having a clog instead of actually taking the time to figure it out as well as have the common decency to return phone calls about the problem has resulted in us probably never buying an appliance...
Read moreI have bought appliances at Sanatoga Appliance since we moved here over 20 years ago. I have always found the sales consultants to be very helpful and informative with no pressure. My most recent purchase was a clothes dryer. I did my homework to find the most reliable model with the highest ratings through consumer reports (CR). Because of the limited space I have I had to stay within certain physical limitations. As it turned out the model that I was looking for was also in the top 5 of models evaluated by CR. I checked several other stores in my area (Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy) and then went to Sanatoga. I walked in the store with my list, started looking and Diane Sikora walked up and asked if she could help. I told her the model I was looking for and she pointed me in the right direction. I looked over the dryer and told her that this model is what I wanted. She said she would get me a price, came back in 5 minutes with a price that was better than the lowest price I could get from the 3 stores I checked by 1 dollar. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. I ordered the dryer on Saturday and it was delivered the following Tuesday. Tuesday morning I received a call and was asked if they could deliver between 9 and 11am. This is the best place in the Pottstown area to get appliances, I live in Gilbertsville.
