First I wanted to commend Dick's Sporting Goods for their involvement in the recent installation of EV charging stations, which brought me into the store to check out new clubs and replacement spikes. However, during my visit, I encountered a concerning issue regarding theft prevention.

When I asked for a package of spikes, the employee brought me one that had a cut in the bag, making it easy for someone to steal items instead of purchasing them. He later returned with another package, and once again, it had a cut in it. I was shocked to hear from the employee that theft is a significant problem, mentioning instances of individuals stuffing golf clubs down their pants and using tools to remove club heads.

What troubled me even more was his comment that employees cannot act to stop theft for fear of termination. This policy seems not only unfair but also places unnecessary liability on employees, who are left feeling powerless in a situation that directly impacts the store's profitability.

I believe that investing in better security measures could help prevent theft and protect employees, who are doing their best in a tough environment. Stores like Dick's Sporting Goods should prioritize both the safety of their staff and the integrity of their products. I am hopeful to hear back regarding this issue, as I believe there are effective strategies that could help address the ongoing theft problem and enhance the work environment for employees. I would be more than willing to share my insights and suggestions to help improve the situation.

This used to be a great store. I never worried about buying items online because I could return them with no issue if they didn't work out. However, today I brought in an unworn item with the tags still on it and the sales associate didn't want to take it back, claiming it couldn't be resold. I asked to speak to the store manager and he stalled, insisting the item needed a lint roller and could no be resold. He finally called a manager saying there was a customer here wanting to return an item that's covered with hair and lint and if he wanted him to take it back. Of course, he was very loud. No worries Nalm, I'm loud too and I don't embarrass easily. He pointed his finger at the return policy and told me to read it. The manager didn't come and I still refused to leave. So Nalm loudly called him out saying I wasn't leaving. The manager came storming behind the counter and told him to throw the item in defects and issue the refund. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the item. It's a shame if they do a chargeback. The associate and manager should not be customer facing. I'm too old to be spoken to like some deadbeat thief over a $20 item, so I won't be shopping there again. What kind of person fights with a customer over $20? I now know that if I'm not happy with a product that I'll be spoken to abusively no matter the condition of the item and may not even be able...

Review for Lulu at Dick’s Sporting Goods – Southern Boulevard

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but my experience with Lulu in the shoe department was truly exceptional and deserves to be shared.

From the moment we began speaking, it felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Lulu has a rare gift , a warmth and sincerity that instantly puts you at ease. She was not only incredibly kind and thoughtful, but also deeply knowledgeable. She referred to herself as a ā€œsneakerhead,ā€ and her passion for what she does absolutely shines through. She took the time to listen, guide, and help without ever being pushy or overbearing. It’s clear she loves what she does.

To be honest, I typically avoid in-store shopping. I usually stick to online purchases just to avoid interactions that might throw off my energy. But Lulu did the opposite she elevated my entire day. She was a reminder that there are still people in retail who genuinely care.

If Lulu could work in every department, I’d be the first in line. Dick’s Sporting Goods is lucky to have her. She’s an absolute gem, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her.

Thank you, Lulu — you made...

DICK'S Sporting Goods was founded in 1948 when an 18-year-old Dick Stack was working at an Army surplus store in Binghamton, New York. An avid fisherman, Dick was approached by the store owner to come up with a list of products needed to get into the fishing tackle business. After Dick presented his suggestions, the owner told him he was a dumb kid and had no idea what he was doing. Dick was upset and promptly quit. He went to his grandmother's house where he spent a lot of time as a kid and told her what had happened. Dick's grandmother asked how much it would cost to build the store himself. Dick said it would cost $300. His grandmother then went to the cookie jar where she kept her life savings and gave him $300 and told him "do it yourself." Dick used that money and his relentless work ethic to open a bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton. By 1958, he expanded his product line to include much of what you'll find at DICK'S Sporting Goods today.

Absolutely the best customer service I’ve ever received! Thomas (the gentleman who pulls and fills the online orders) helped me make my son’s birthday by locating the Ronaldo jersey that he requested. I called in before making the hour drive to this location and he helped make the process easy and even fun. Thomas went above and beyond!!! People like him have a special place in this world and he deserves all the praise for his kindness, patience and just genuine effort in helping people. Thank you, Thomas! You made my son’s day and he won’t take this jersey off now šŸ˜‚šŸ«£
