I shop at Kolh's regularly. It's a family thing. On the 26th, my mother and I went to take advantage of the after Christmas sales, specifically for undergarments. I came across a stock of Bali underwear that were advertised on your digital sales sign, indicating that the price was 3/$23.99 or $8.99 individually. There were no other underwear other than the 3-pack of Bali underwear, so there was no way this sale could be misinterpreted. We continue our shopping and the nightmare begins at checkout. The clerk looked fairly new, as she was still asking questions. When we checked out, she rings up my items and proceeds to give me my total which was about $45 more than i expected. When I look at the itemization, I notice the Bali underwear were not the correct price. She's calling people over for a price check and gets another clerk, who I meet over where I picked out the underwear. She then tells me that the items are in fact mislabeled and are not on sale. The sale price was for one pair of underwear, not a three pack and the sale display was on the wrong item. Mind you, there is no other item on this rack except for the 3 pack if Bali underwear. She calls a manager on the phone and tells me they are not going to honor the sale price, regardless of that fact that it was improperly placed by them. No apologies about it, just a flat out no. I return to the checkout line, take the underwear off of my transaction and I hand her my Kohl's cash and coupons expecting to finish my transaction and wait for my mom, who is behind me in line. The price of a lot of her sales items were improperly displayed as well, and she decides to leave these items behind. She then hands the clerk her gift cards and coupons. The clerk proceeds to apply the payment options and then says that the system is not recognizing her 15% off, which was attached to the Kohl's cash she had. That didn't make sense to us, so she she asks the clerk next to her what the problem was and she said she applied the gift card before the coupon and it needed to be the other way around. The clerk then looks at my mom and says "you handed this to me in the wrong order and now it's messed up" or something along those line. At this point I'm beyond frustrated and replied that WE did not work at Kohl's and it is her responsibility to know how payments are applied, not ours. The problem is fixed and we leave. As I check my receipt I notice that the clerk did the same to my order. She applied my Kohl's cash first, and then scanned the 15% off coupon, so I got $0.40 off of my order, since the total balance had already been reduced by my Kohl's cash. This was the most frustrating experience we have ever had at Kohl's. Being Kohl's card members as well as Yes to You members and constant shoppers of this same store, to be disregarded and blamed for their mistakes and actions left us with a very sour taste and a desire to never revisit this...
Read moreMy wife and I went there the other day to return something. The customer service rep that helped us did so without interrogating us about why we were returning the item and also returned the kohls cash we used on the item, 5 star for her. We went to but the item again because the current sales were better than when we bought our item days prior. The cashier whos name was Petrula (blond older lady) I believe was less than helpful and in my opinion should not be in direct contact with customers. To start she rang up 1 person in the same time it took the other cashier to ring up 4 people. We tried to use our kohls cash which the customer service rep in the back of the store said it would be active immediately. The cashier tried to ring it up but was not successful even after talking to the customer service rep in the back, obviously user error. The cashier then told us we would have to walk back to customer service and then back here to get rung out. I worked in customer service for a long time and I never made a customer walk anywhere to handle a problem, I always tried to offer excellent customer service something this cashier was lacking. So we asked her you want us to walk all the way back there and wait in line again and she said yes you will have to walk back there. We went back and the Rep stated the kohls cash is working perfectly find, She asked where the product was and we told her that the cashier told us to walk back up there when we were done at customer service. She said she told the cashier she would ring us up in the back but much like her lack of customer service her listening skills also need some work. So i walked back to the cashier to get the product and I walked into the cashier bad mouthing us to the other cashier and possibly the manager, as soon as i walked up I heard her complaining about us (completely unprofessional). I took the product and told her I would rather have the customer service rep in the back help us. the customer service rep that helped us in the back embodies what customer service is, friendly, helpful service. Petrula needs to go back to training and be more...
Read moreI visited this store for a specific item that I saw advertised and that was supposedly carried by Kohls. The store is very large and the entrance is a little confusing. I found it a little difficult to get to the department that I was looking for. I could not find the item that was supposed to be carried by Kohls nor could I find anyone to help me for quite a while. I did and eventually grab somebody and they did try to help me by even calling for support. The bottom line, is that even though they told me a lot of people had been asking for the specific item they didn't have it in they didn't expect haven't and told me to go online. This is not a good answer in my estimation if department stores want to continue. I remember a few years ago going into another store and being sold on a specific item and I said okay I'll buy it and when they look for that item they couldn't find it. However, in this particular case they told me they would get the item and send it to me. Now that's what I would call closing the deal and I would certainly return to that store. As far as Kohl's I don't think that this is the store for me. While I was there I did look at some other items and I thought the pricing was high. Perhaps that was just before the Black Friday and they were offering discounts for that particular event. I also noticed that the Isles were starting to get crowded with items geared towards the holidays. While there weren't many people in the store while I was there I cannot imagine what it would be like when...
