United Supermarkets — Local services in Lubbock

I went to the Baker in United at 401 slide road and ordered a cake for our daughter’s birthday on 8/16. I ordered the cake with Andrea. I ordered a Donkey King picture, with chocolate and strawberry two layered cake. So picked it up and went to Albuquerque to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. She was so excited, until we cut into the cake and it was a plain white cake and it wasn’t buttercream icing. So today I called and spoke to Robbie and he wanted pics and receipt. So I went down to the bakery and Robbie was out, so I told Andrea the women that made the cake the issue. Showed her the pictures. Instead of an apology, she, with an ugly attitude, stated what do you want us to do? I said well Robbie stated bring pics and receipt and at least he will reimburse. Well we did get reimbursed but as we walked away from the bakery, Andrea stated you should not of been given the pink order sheet. I turned and stated I’m glad I did so I could prove the mistake. The disappointing thing is I shop at United and market streets because they usually have the best customer service in town And the best people that work there. I will continue to shop, but probably not at that location. And Andrea in the bakery at 401 Slide Rd. is not the example and the standard that the market streets in Uniteds...

I really hate to make a negative review on this store. I’ve been shopping here for 20 years +/-. Having said that , I don’t feel like this store is given the same selection of quality produce and a few other items as the store on 4th and Milwaukee . Lettuce and lemons and limes are not top quality. Some meat products aren’t either.. I have been willing to pay a little more for carry out as well. A slacker passed me as I was on the way out the door with a full basket and simply said “ have a nice day. Once again though manage, checkers and some others are Great people. Love this location. My feelings are this location is being treated as a second rate location. That’s a shame when most employees are only dealing with what they’re given, and still doing their best to provide a quality business and service. BUYERS be sure and review expiration dates on products. Sadly despite my original post eight months ago these are still issues. I went about a week ago and there was an inflated package of Boars head prepackaged deli meat that was expired from February and another that was expired from the first of March. I called out to the individual letting him know they were expired and placed it on the top of the refrigerator. He seemed irritated with me and didn't say anything. I've always been a fan of United but this location continues to cause concern with expired products and safety of food products.
