Pieroway's Furniture — Local services in Ludlow

I purchased a bed here recently and it was a good experience at first. When I asked the salesman for the price of a bed set (mattress and box spring) he gave me that figure and followed up by saying the support was included with that. I took that to mean what every bed I have ever purchased comes with: a standard frame. When the delivery drivers showed up there was no frame. I called who I assume was the manager, unable to get a hold of the salesman who sold me the bed. He essentially refused to provide a frame with the bed. Said I misunderstood the salesman and the bed doesn't come with a frame. And that by "support" the salesman was referring to the box spring. Told me a frame is $120 extra. I can come down to the store and he'll sell me one. Every bed I've bought in the past has always come with a standard metal frame. And almost every company who delivered to me assembled the frame and set the bed and box spring on the frame, or the "support" for the bed set. The indifference of the manager was really unfortunate. After the amount of money I just spent in there on a high end bed. And I just moved into a new place and have no furniture. I was looking to buy more than just a bed. I guess they really don't need the business down at Pieroway's in Ludlow. Not a considerate or smart way to treat your customer. If that's how they do business. For a $120 he was willing to turn my business away. And that price for a standard metal frame he quoted is high by about $60. Due to the attitude of the manager, I'll furnish my home some place else. Up until 2018 our place to buy furniture was pieroway's in West Springfield. We had purchased a new home and went there. The salesman was not what we expected. During this visit it wasn't about price, we wanted quality. We needed a house full of furniture. The salesman was aggressive and kept saying things we found odd. I looked at my wife and said let's get out of here. We went to Andy's in Greenfield and met a very nice gentleman. I said we are here to buy furniture for every room of our new home. He smiled and said ok I'm here to help. He was great and we spent a lot of money. We got great advice and a military discount. We recently went back to pieroway's a couple of months ago to look for a swivel recliner. The salesman we met again was kind of cocky. I told him we were stopping into raymor and Flanagan. He immediately said they were more expensive. We left and found recliners of good quality cheaper than pieroway's. I'm not sure what's happening there but they need to review their hiring practices and be more competitive with pricing. After all, IT'S...

For years we have shopped at larger stores but this is about to change and here is why....We live in Ludlow and my 12 year old rides his bike to the Ludlow store with his friends. These kids are good kids who like to spend the money they have at Walgreens and a few other local stores. That being said, they get bored and they often go into the Ludlow Pieroways to sit in the recliners, they have also gone in to play hide and seek. The reason I am writing this review is because I am happy to say that the staff hasn’t kicked them out for just being kids... the staff has welcomed them and tolerated their mischievous yet harmless behavior. My son said “they are very nice in that store!” So I’m happy to say that I will now patronize this establishment going forward for all of my furniture and mattress needs. I just hope I didn’t get anyone in trouble at this store!
