Pearl House Restaurant — Restaurant in Springfield

I used to order there all the time until one day I was disgruntled with their insensitive behavior. I called them through Sorensen video phone (I'm Deaf) I speak to the operator in ASL and the operator interprets what I said and then operator interpret back to me in ASL to what they said...that's how the communication system works, but anyway back to the point. I called and I asked for a delivery. I asked for pork fried rice, then they said they don't have any, then I asked for pork lo mein. They said they don't have any, then they said "I'm busy right now" and hung up on me. I thought "wow that was really rude and too busy for a customer?", so I called again, they kept hanging up on me. I called again and let it ring until they pick up the phone & hung up on me. I was furious. My mother called and told them. They basically said that I was "fooling around" & took too long of their time. My mother got them straight to the point that I'm Deaf I'm talking to an ASL operator & it was insensitive of them to say that they're too busy to take an order from a customer. They said I can call them back and will take my order. I said no they're not worth it. So here's 1 star for their poor service and discrimination. They need to get themselves educated & have some respect for all populations. I don't care if they're not "aware" of it, because that's not an excuse at all. I have been going to Pearl house for 18+ years. The food is excellent 9/10 visits and it's my go-to Chinese restaurant. Once in a while you might have one of your items that's just not quite as good as usual, but in general their food is consistently good! The reason for knocking off a star is that you really need to know what you're spending and ask them to clarify anything that doesn't add up. I have been overcharged by mistake (I presume). It probably doesn't help that their menu prices change all the time. I have attached their most recent menu, which is again higher than a year before. I get it, inflation.. Their website is also very outdated as far as prices. I'm talking at least 4 years out of date.

First time trying this place.. How they have 4.3 stars is beyond me.. My wife's pork lo mein was horribly dry with no veg.. my combo of beef n broccoli and chicken fingers was terrible.. beef was like rubber.. hard to mess up broccoli BUUUT.. no sauce on it.. JUST GREASE... It came with 3 greasy chicken fingers..I also ordered the hot n sour soup which was a gelatinous goop that I couldn't bring myself to try.. think of the jelly that's in a can of Spam or Vienna sausage. My wife is currently returning my food to Get some of MY money back .. She ate some if hers. .Almost 20 dollars.. If they don't I'll update my review.. We will NEVER GO BACK TO PEARL HOUSE AGAIN!!!..
