If I could warn anyone that is about to make a purchase from any Havertys store, especially the Tampa location on Dale Mabry, I would tell them to run far and to run fast. Our experience was a complete nightmare, so this had to be my first ever negative Google review. We ordered our new couch back in November of 2020. Because of COVID, there were delays in shipments which was not something we would've had a problem with had we been given a heads up and been kept in the loop on what to expect. Instead, we went a full month beyond when we had expected the couch to be delivered by (we were given a 10 week window in the signed contract, so we had waited nearly 4 months before reaching out to Havertys to ask what was going on) and we were told they were experiencing delays and that the new estimated shipping date was a month out. We waited another month and still heard nothing. To summarize, we had to call back time and time again over a 3 month period beyond when we had been promised our new couch just to be put on hold and told multiple times that they were "too busy" to get us an update because they were helping customers in the store. So what was I? Im not a customer who has already purchased something that they hadnt delivered months past their window but were fine taking my money upfront for? I understand delays happen for all sorts of reasons. I understand the pandemic was an anomaly and that we should all be patient with eachother because the impacts will be felt for a long time. But what I am not ok with, is poor customer service and people who I have paid $4k to in good faith who waste my time because they dont know how to stay on top of their own commitments. As a paying customer, I shouldve been contacted the minute the company knew they would not be able to fulfill their contract time for delivery. I shouldve been kept up to date on the status without me having to call back every other week to find out where my furniture was. And when I took the time out of my own business day to make the effort to call and find out what was going on, I should never be told that they are too busy to give me an update or explanation of the circumstances because theyre too busy helping (scamming) other customers. Please please please, do not give them any of your business or your money because they do not deserve it and all I want is to help protect you from the awful experience we had over a 7 month period. We finally threatened legal action if they did not return our money so thank GOD this issue is over for us. I am someone who is very protective of my time and my energy, especially during the work week because I am a busy person, so to all others that have an expectation that when you pay a company $4k for a tiny sectional sofa that they will make your life easier and at the very least take care of updates for you - please beware and please...

Honest to God!! The worst from Jeanette to Susan on Dale Mabry to Frank in customer service!!! 5th time I have been waiting for a desk and today they had to come back again for the 6th time because they forgot the legs to the desk that has never worked properly since it was delivered!!! It says it’s 28 inches. It only lowers to 36 inches!! Let’s see if Haverty’s customer service can get their act together. I have missed many events to sit home and wait. Also, Frank in customer service, you’re horrible at your job!! Hanging up on a customer is inappropriate! 5 times, I’ll update my review on the 6th time!
Just got off the phone with a manager by the name of Steph in Dallas. These people are the worst. It’s there 5th mistake you’d think they would bend over backwards to fix this. Nope! lol they can’t even secure me a morning slot to deliver the desk!! What an absolute joke this place is!!
Also, they sent me a couch and the legs on it were so scratched up it looked used. Then to make it easy on them they Fed Ex’d me the leg and were supposed to put it on when they were here for the 5th time for the desk. Steph told me that wasn’t in their computer system so they didn’t install it. I assumed they sent the right leg. They even sent me the wrong leg upon checking the box. Omgoodness this place is a joke!!!
Just ended my call with Wanda in Dallas (manager) She told me she will send me a link so I can upload pictures of which leg needs replacing and take a picture of the leg they Fed Ex’d so they can cross reference both legs. She then will look it up in Havertys system to make sure they have the leg otherwise it may be on back order so I may get it in a year or two! lol that last part about two years is me joking. However, is anyone else tired yet? All I wanted was furniture, I didn’t think I would have to marathon it with Havertys! Two...
Read moreMy wife and I purchased a three-piece reclining sofa from Havertys about three years ago. The saleswoman, Jeanette was excellent and very professional. At the time we purchased the warranty service from Guardsman. No real problems with the sofa until a few months ago when the electronics seemed to be giving us problems. I won't go into all the details we had dealing with Guardsman because it's not fair to Havertys, but lets just say I WAS NOT happy with the way Guardsman delt with the problems. I decided to call Havertys to see if they could help in any way with the problems I was having. I spoke with Dan, the manger at the store. Right away, Dan was amazing. Instead of giving me the run around like Guardsman was doing, Dan legitimately wanted to help. He looked up my info and saw the issues I was having and saw how long Guardsman was taking. I'm still kind of amazed at what Dan did. He offered to take the entire (almost three year old) couch back, refund THE ENTIRE AMOUNT and allow me to pick out a brand new couch. My wife, daughter and I went to the store over the weekend, met with Dan who honored the refund and let us pick something else out. Once again Jeanette helped us. The new couch (and recliner) came yesterday, they took the old one away and we are very happy. I can't thank Havertys (and Dan) enough for how much they stepped up and went ABOVE AND BEYOND in this situation. We will be back and recommend Havertys to anyone we know looking for furniture....
