I initially went here based off of a good recommendation and the reviews seemed raving, so I had to try! (EDIT: LOT of these 5 star reviews seem very shady and suspicious. Beware.)
My first visit was pretty well, I love that the facility is very clean, it's got a great vibe and cute seating, and sometimes play popular kpop music. I went with my bf and mother in law; the combo pho was alright, Bahn mi sandwiches were yummy but the spring rolls were dry so won't eat that again. (pork is overcooked too)
Today, the ball was really dropped. Me, my bf and our uncles ordered sandwiches and pho; we brought them since it was their first time and since we had a decent experience on our first time, we wanted to share. I'm not sure what happened but there was nothing but confusion and no communication within the staff. We had separate orders but sat at same table, which we confirmed with the cashier and she gave us a table number, which ended up being useless at that point. We waited a good 15 min before our sandwiches came out. Fair enough...but that's where it stopped. The rest of our order for the pho and my uncle's egg rolls were completely forgotten. I went up to the front to inquire about our order, I wanted no tendon as we were told in the combo pho that there was beef tendon. I was then told by another cashier that they don't put beef tendon in the pho, so there was that miscommunication already. Fine, ordered as is. Waited another 5 min before one of the staff said it'll be another 10-15 min wait. Came out 20 min later. My uncle also had to ask about his egg rolls which they later gave him after he saw they just left it sitting at the front counter for who knows how long. I kid you not, this was the worst pho I've had in a long time. Why?? The broth was off but the meat was way overcooked and super rubbery. How?? Putting the pho meat IN THE MICROWAVE is a HUGE NO from me! That changes the flavor and texture at the very least. All of us watched the staff put the meat in a bowl in the microwave then put in broth separately after. So here we are eating $13 bowl of microwave Pho, awesome. Not to mention the desserts are not even made fresh, some of them taste exactly like desserts from Costco, just pre-portioned and repacked at upsell price. (my uncle knows one of the cakes tastes identical to pepperridge farms brand) They also forgot another croissant sandwich order my uncle placed that we had to get up and inquire about too. We won't be going back here again for quite a while. Staff does not communicate with one another, no organization on orders and customer service is low. To get up 5 different times asking where our order was and them wondering where it was too was crazy, it was hardly busy too. But the whole microwaving the meat is a huuuuge no-no for me. Not authentic at all. And to be spending $60+ for 2 soups, 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks at the very least for 2 people, I would expect better. Very disappointed by this establishment. :( I will stick to the pho place further down the street that actually makes theirs fresh from scratch, no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went during their soft opening day on 11/19. Definitely keep that in mind.
I ordered two banh mi ( one combination and one grilled pork) as well as two bobas (original black milk tea and passionfruit green tea), a chocolate mousse dessert and two pastries.
Food wise: tastes great! The banh mis taste right on point, and I especially recommend getting the grilled pork one. Bobas are soft and the milk teas are good as well. The desserts are divine and so are their pastries.
A couple of tips with what to expect: Iām not sure if their banh mis are all like this (they are a chain) so this might be just me not knowing what to expect. Their banh mi baguettes are actual French baguettes (the thin and long kind). Usually when we get the banh mi at other restaurants they are always slightly wider and puffier. But because Paris Banh Mi uses French baguettes, the breads are skinny and long but also hurt the roof/top of your mouth when you are eating it. Also because French baguettes are so skinny, donāt expect them to be able to stuff to many fillings in their banh mis.
Service: they are very nice and courteous but they were definitely overwhelmed by their first day of soft opening.
I went during lunch hour and waited 45 minutes for my two banh mis and bobas. The staff were really nice but you can tell that they were frazzled and tried their best to keep up with the orders.
A couple of things that they can do better: -The entrances are confusing. They have two doors (one all the way to the left and another all the to the right). During that day only the one to the right was opened (see their outside picture) but it caused a lot of confusion because it leads directly to their pick-up line. They should have opened the left door instead because that leads directly to the order line. This caused a huge confusion because even though there are social distancing stickers on the floor, no one was following the social distancing rules because they didnāt know where to order. People were just standing around aimlessly because they couldnāt figure out where did the ordering line start. Once you order, you go to the pick up side but there were people sitting, standing, and just pacing on the pick up side that it was getting uncomfortable. Sometimes people would get confused because the ordering line would meld into the pick up side.
-be prepared to wait for your order. Thank goodness I work from home, but just be prepared to set some time to just wait for your food to come out. I personally donāt blame the restaurant because it was their first day so it will take them some time to get their routine down for everything to run efficiently.
Overall, I would it give it a good few weeks to a month before returning to order their food. Mainly for the hype to die down but also give them enough time to run everything smoothly. Their food is definitely good for me to return though! Itās only a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt seems there is a change in ownership or management the past few months . We like to have regular spots for boba / banh mi especially with a busy work school and sports schedule . Customer service has diminished sadly . Such a disappointment as the artichoke drink here is what I would come for . Initially it was younger kids standing around joking or chit chatting. Giving us a partial order and having to come ask for the rest . As of lately , The young gentlemen with a gold hoop earring who is always there Langdon T stood there for 5 minutes arguing about how they donāt have my order, could not find it , or another excessive excuse. My son put the order in online as we were driving. There was no option for first and last name with clover app. I gave him both our names and he said there was no order. If it was not already paid, for, I would have walked out. The way he treated me was unacceptable. It was very simple 2 pho and 1 banh mi . I told him several times what the items were . there was only two bags sitting there. He would not budge . I also showed him my email confirmation , still no order . Thereās also a phone number , an email, and order detail printed on receipt. He was too lazy to look would rather hold up the line , or told me to move aside to take the customer behind me . An older gentleman took 1 second to find my order . The young gentlemen pointed me to go over there to get it with an attitude Ofcourse , as if I was a stray dog made to leave the business. He looks to be in management unfortunately. Iād like to get the word out that 95% of a businesses success is in customer service and banh mi factory does not have it . Save your...
