Alderwood Safe Storage — Local services in Lynnwood

I have used a couple ministorage locations over the last few years, but Alderwood Safe Storage treated me so well that it prompted me to write this review.This location is easily accessible, being located at the wishbone where I5 and 405 come together. It's also relatively inexpensive compared to storage facilities I looked into around the area. On top of all that, they also have electrical outlets within 20 ft of most of the units. This is really useful if you need to do any moving after it gets dark (especially in winter, since it's dark by 5 PM) because you can power some utility lights to help you see inside and outside of the unit. The facility is very secure with cameras at the entrance and exit, and also at various areas around the facility.Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the small, but meaningful gestures that really help them stand out from the other facilities I've used in the past. When I signed up for my unit, they provide you with a free lock and let you use their move-in truck to move your stuff into your unit. It's about the same size as a 17' U-Haul truck, and I'm sure it's just as versatile. I was in a desperate situation when the company I took a job for in another state decided they were not going to cover any of my moving costs. I had 1 week to figure out what to do with all of my earthly possessions. I went into Alderwood Safe Storage after reading some of the online reviews of various storage facilities in the area, and honestly my own reviews from previous moves. Rachel the front office staff was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to help me, including staying open an extra 25 minutes when I walked in at 1 minute before closing. I told her I would return the next day and she helped me anyway and did not make me feel anything but truly happy about getting my needs taken care of. There were also two gentlemen staff, one was named Corey, and I can't remember the other staff, but they were extremely polite, professional, and helpful. I borrowed the truck and it was quick and I ended up paying $4.68 cents to refill the truck after I used it. This meant when they say they top off the gas, they are being honest about it. Friendly staff, super nice. Spaces are well secured and safe!!! Surveillance in office is visible and recorded on every part of the property. Security drives through the location frequently and entrance is gate accessible with code only. Locks are heavy duty and not breakable and cannot be clipped and doors are locked to enter the units. A+ review.

Also, they offer heated units which is nice. Hours open and closed are convenient hours.

Cons: It could be more updated look wise inside the entrance to units with lighting and presentation inside the spaces. It’s cold inside with fluorescent lighting in the hallway for smaller units to rent.

Pricing is higher end per month but reasonable with the free lock and security.
