Wow!!.. I don't know another word that best describes Esther and any business she is a part of..
A tiny little back story... I have known Esther for almost 30 years.. when I worked in the same parking lot as Ichi Teriyaki. I got to know her well enough, that when I was pregnant with my son (who just turned 21 on Wednesday) she was always concerned if I was eating properly..
Since the day I met her, she has been someone I have looked up to and admired. Her work ethic, the love for her family, her caring for others the way she does. Like the.. I want to be like you when I grow up kind of person.. lol..
I was contacted today, granted, it was a pocket dial..(which made me laugh) and I've been pretty stressed about money lately, so the laugh was nice...She starts talking about her grant/scholarship thing she does to give back to the community and I say yeah dude, I love that you do that, I think it's awesome. She tells me that she wants me to have it.. I immediately feel that someone needs it more than me.. but she says no, I want you to have it.. I'm crying at this point,(which is very annoying, I hate crying) She says, come down so I can give it to you. I come down and when I got there.. She says, my husband told me make it 700.. She told me..God told me he remembers the things you have done to help people..just help some else when you can..
I'm really crying now.. So, I want to just say.. I don't think there is any company or any person in this world.. that is more worthy or your hard earned money..for the Best Damned Teriyaki you will ever have..ever.. than Esther and...

(she didn’t even tell me that they didn’t have the chicken before I paid) I paid and got my order to go, and got into my car and when I opened my box I realize that she gave me the wrong order so I walked back in there and politely told her about the order and even showed her the photo of the chicken. Her and the other workers told me that they didn’t have it and so I assumed that I looked at the wrong spot but when I got back to my car I’ve looked back at my location to realize that this was the only Wow teriyaki near me and I even checked how to get there and it was the exact spot. 5 seconds before leaving I heard them burst in laughter. I didn’t find this funny at all and this makes me not want to come back. If you don’t have the chicken or you’re confused of what your customers ordered, let your customer know before you put another order that they DID NOT specifically order instead of laughing.
It doesn’t let me add a response but thank you! I felt very disrespected and humiliated but I appreciate the apology. I hope next time that I walk in there I won’t feel humiliated. The staff in there didn’t offer a refund but next time when I choose to go back, I will go to the time that you...
Read moreI've been going to "WOW Teriyaki" for over 15 years. (Formally ICHI Teriyaki, before ICHI was taken over by new ownership a few years back.) Esther, her husband, sons, and staff are very hard workers and deeply care about the quality of your food, service, and atmosphere.
Esther and her husband have been giving back to the community for years and really wanted to help community members out with living, education, or personal expenses recently.
Esther and her husband decided to offer scholarships to those working on themselves, whether it be a career, personal life, bills, etc. They truly wanted to "give back" not only to their customers but their community.
For the month of August 2024, I was awarded a scholarship check in the amount of $680.00. This money will be used to further my education at the college I'm currently attending to pursue my degree. I can't thank Esther and her family enough for helping me pursue and reach my education goals.
I wanted to write to everyone and let them know that I've been visiting this establishment since my late teens into adulthood. Ive had friends/family visit from all across the US, and we can all agree we've never had a better teriyaki dish. The chicken, beef, rice, or salad is always fresh and isn't soaked in teriyaki sauce like other businesses that try to compete. "WOW Teriyaki" has its own unique blend of thick paste-like sauce that can't be beat.
I will always support this business and family in and out of their business for as long as they're...
