Middle Georgia came to McDonough HighSchool giving out quick decisions to Highschool seniors towards the beginning of this year (2023). A lot of kids applied because it was one of their college advisorâs requirements of applying to atleast 3 colleges. Of course everyone received immediate acceptances. Well my daughter ended up attending Albany State University and staying on campus. Apparently MGSU had sent her out a school schedule unbeknownst to us. We werenât expecting it because she hadnât attended any orientation or given any indication that she would be attending this school besides applying, which many kids do right? Well her first year at ASU is off to a great start until around September the financial aid office at ASU informed my daughter that her financial aid was given to MGSU and she had a balance of 5 thousand and some odd dollars because they canât pay two schools. My question is if she never attended any school beside ASU, how could they take her financial aid???? So she started the long process of reaching out to teachers (per financial aid at MGSU) and telling them to drop her from the classes so that her aid can be returned to ASU. Well professors wasnât answering emails or anything she had to take it a step further and reach out to the deans. Long story short they (deans) told her that they informed the professors and it will be handled after hearing the story. Well Iâm here to tell you that it was not handled!!!! The day before my daughter was released from school she was informed that MGSU did NOT return her aid and she still had a balance and it had to be paid in full by Jan. 2, 2024 or she will be dropped from all her classes. How is this legal??? I reached out to federal student aid who informed me that her financial aid was good and that they do not reimburse financial aid after it has been rewarded it has to be returned from MGSU back to ASU. Of course when we reached out to MGSU after being notified that they still had her financial aid, they went on winter break before ASU! Do not and I repeat do not be tricked by their immediate decisions when coming out to your seniorâs school. They are preying on minorities students. And clearly they are getting away with it. Well they picked the wrong student...
Read moreIf youâre going to school to obtain a nursing degree at middle Georgia, then be mindful of the advisor they give you. When I was there my advisor was Lisa Kelly. My experience with her was 0/100. Instead of wanting whatâs best for me and guiding me to the right direction at such young age, she loaded my first semester with 18+ hours and insist I joined this healthcare group on campus that never happened. My parents only wanted the best when it came to my education and during our meeting with all of us she made it clear that 18+ along with the healthcare group will allow my time at middle Georgia to be a great one. Well that all was a lie! After my first semester and constantly going to her and saying my course load was heavy she insist that I keep every class I started with although I was sinking. I was so concern I would always schedule meetings with her just to hear âKayla, you may never be a nurseâ or â I donât ever see you getting into nursing school.â After my parents were notified of her remarks, a complaint was filed and I didnât continue to my time at middle Georgia. By my hard work and determination I am a nurse now!! (1+)and Iâm grateful for transitioning to a school that only wanted whatâs best for me. In other words if youâre going to middle ga, make sure youâre guided by an advisor who truly cares about EVERY student, not only the ones who fit...
Read moreDefinitely the campus you should go to if you want frequent class cancelations from gang activity, evidence found, gunshots, trespassers, and lazy professors who don't answer questions in emails when asked. Lakeview Pointe had the worst staff. The RLC Kamy Shah would constantly fine people for any reason at all, even if unjustified. I had them constantly come into my dorm room everyday and take personal belongings, and even browse on my computer and phone without consent. I tried reporting this to student housing, but they never updated me on the investigation even after countless emails and phone calls. This college is probably one of the biggest cash grabs there are as far as intention of failure. This is the school to go to to get harassed, blackmailed, stolen from, fined, and potentially...
