04/24/20 I went in to get new tires for my truck. Got the tires and an alignment, when i got home i realized that they left scratches on all 4 of my rims (got 2 sets of tires before, never been scratched). I went back to complain about it to Art, but he said that they couldn't do anything about it because the scratches were in the barrel of the rim, let alone these rims cost around $1000 new.. So after me telling him, it was a big deal to me.. he offered me to fix them. His way of fixing them was sanding them down and painting over them, i told him these aren't painted wheels they're powder coated.. after that he basically said that they couldn't do anything about it. So i go home, and got in contact with they're district manager, Andy, and he told me he'll take care of it. Art, then happens to call me back after im done talking to Andy, saying that they'll fix my rims the right way and hell call me when he can take them in. i told him in the meantime ill find (buy) some spares so i can still drive my truck. And good thing i did. A Week goes by and no call, so i start calling. I called 3 times when it's finally answered by Edwin. He says that Art is busy and puts me on hold but never answers it or that art is not there. Finally Art answers and i tell him" why are you guys giving me the run around, i just want my wheels fixed" and his response was that he was waiting on me to get ahold of spares and to call him. keep in mind Ive had my spare wheels for a while now and was calling but no answer or let on hold. I told him that ive had my wheels for an while now and i already swapped them my myself. I end up taking my wheels that day (May 8 or 9). I ask him when will they be done, he says in about a week or 2 and that he'll call me for updates, he never did. So i start calling again, and edwin picks up for those times i call, when they finally answer, and, either left me on hold and never picked up again, or he'll say that he doesn't much about them ,only that he knows that there are in a shop working on them. The last time i called was june 10 ( a MONTH goes by) and edwin answered and told me the same thing so i get fed up and told him that ima go to there shop on friday, june 12. I get there and NOTHING has been done to my wheels other that they've been taken apart(wheel and tire). Art tells me that no shop wants to work on them because the scratches are too deep, again keep in mind they've been egging me on for a month, saying that they're in a shop. He offers to refund me for the tires that i bought from them roughly $640, never got a receipt, but i told him i dont care about the money for the tires i want my wheels fixed.. then i tell him to replace my wheels if you cant get them fixed and he said he'll call his district manager Tony. I end up calling tony that same day (06/12/20) because these guys will never call him. Tony tells me that he'll replace them... 06/20/20, 2 months later and i have no rims and no tires, I believe I have been Extremely patient. Finally got my wheels on 07/15/20.. I personally will never go there again. I hope you have a better experience then me...
Late review, haven't had the time...
Side note Only reason i got it handled was because I had to contact B.A.R. If you have problems with tire shops, body shops, etc. Contact B.A.R. they will get it...
Read moreThe store manager Fabian at the South D Street store in Madera has zero interest in customer service. He wants to jack up the prices to hit his sales marks. That's all he cares about. He refused to even price match the other American Tire store in town even after that Store Manger called him and told him he was sending me over with an agreed upon price estimate. Fabian wanted to inflate all the prices previously quoted at the other store and tried to say it would take 2.5 hours of labor just to install rear shocks. It's four bolts. Then he wanted to charge a premium for the alignment. The other store would do it for a normal price and I had an American Tire price quote from the other store manager. They would have gladly done it but their laser could not attach to my wheels so they sent me across town knowing the other store had the alignment machine which grabs the tire not the wheel. So I wasted my time driving across town only to have Fabian try to rip me off and not honor the price match from the other store in the same company and town. I wish I could leave zero stars. American Tire has just lost my business with such poor customer service from Mr. Fabian. Knowing the industry it was so obvious he could care less about customer service and only cared about hitting his sales mark to turn away a customer that was just sent across town. I used to love American Tire and they had a lot of great customer service oriented store managers like Edwin, Angel and Edwardo providing excellent customer service and building trust with customers but Fabian is a huge step in the wrong direction for...
Read moreI purchased a set of tires from this location and had to wait for 2 hours to get them installed. A few months later I came back to get a warranty flat repaired. The nail hole was almost in the center of the tire tread not on the sidewall or the shoulder of the tire. The manger instantly told me the tire could not be repaired. I said "what are you talking about you don't even know where the leak is on the tire". He said that that tire was worn out and I would need purchase a new one. I made him show me the tire depth it measured 7/32th the tire only came with 10/32th. A tire needs to be replaced at 2/32th. Granted I had put over 10k of miles in only a few months but the tire hade lots of tread left. Then he began to tell that these were cheap tires not worth repairing I quickly reminded him that he was the one who sold me those tires. He kept trying to get me to buy a new tire and he would prorate the tread against a new tire and I would need to buy another warranty/road hazard and pay another mount and balance fee along with a disposal fee. Grand total $82 so much for that free replacement road hazard warranty. I told them to put the tire back on my car and I'll get it fixed somewhere else. That totally pissed him off! He told me I shouldn't let my family ride in a car with tires like that pointing at my car seat in the back. Went down the street to Fast Tire $8 and 10 minutes My tire was fixed and I was back on the road, with no up sell BS.
UPDATE:That set of tire went another 28k miles (38K total miles) before I had to...
