I usually don't give reviews much less negative reviews, but after my experience and speaking to someone about theirs, I felt compelled to do so. My family joined over a month ago and was told that paying via check was not a problem since they are exclusive to Visa. My wife and I joined mainly for office supply purposes, but it has been a nightmare. On 3/22 around 6:45 pm, my family and I were attempting to check out and was told by the cashier that we were not allowed to use a check, even though I had just paid with one twice previously. The customer service supervisor was called over to help, but was anything but helpful. He was asked to come over and said " We don't take checks anymore." I asked when did this happen and he simply walked away with no reply. I had to pay for the transaction using a personal account for the time being and hoped to resolve it later. My wife then went to get clarification from the customer service desk about our membership. Sherry at the desk asked the same customer service supervisor to come over to elaborate and he continued to have a conversation with 3 other employees in the tire department, while laughing the entire time. Another lady ,who didn't address my wife at all came over and told Sherry "They probably didn't have their proper ID at the time." This wasn't true at all. After Sherry told her that she had my ID right there, the lady just rolled her eyes and walked off. Two managers were in the vicinity at the time, a male named Joe and a female whose name tag I couldn't make out. They were the one's having the conversation earlier. Joe came over and acknowledged my wife while the female was speaking to Sherry and stated there was a hold on my account because it was purchased online and it just needed to be removed and it could have been taken off after a check was used previously. Sherry at the desk was trying to be helpful as much as she could and was apologetic, but everyone else failed miserably at...
Read moreThe newly opened COSTCO located in Madison is like no other Costco. NOT. It is basically the same Costco you have visited. The same outlined structured building that you entered through and walk each aisle to find what you need. However, before you enter the store did you noticed that you have to scan your membership card. What is up with this. It remind me of working in the prison setting where each inmates wears a badge which he/she use to scan there way at each different enterance/exit points whenever they walk through the building. Is this how COSTCO treat or think about their loyal customer(s) (that spend their hard own money to be watched carefully or monitored like a prisoner/inmate). Mind you, you are the customer. COSTCO should be renamed, COSCTCO STATE MEDIUM SECURITY FACILITY. I feel like the company has lowered its standards for "good and honest service". to thousands of loyal membership customers. You decide; it is your...
Read moreI don't get to come to this location in Madison as much as I'd like because I'm much closer to the one on University Drive, but every time I do get to come come here it is day-vs-night better run than the one on University. Every time I've been to this location the service has been EXCELLENT - they always have all ingredients in stock (unlike University, who've even been out of cheese on multiple visits - how can any restaurant run out of CHEESE?!), the portion sizes are outstanding, and the taste is perfect. So happy to write a positive review about this location after being so disgusted with the incompetence at the University Drive location. The first half of my burrito was prepared by Monica, with the other half done by Kevin - then Monica rang me up, and when I happened to comment on the store being so competently run, she told me she was actually the...
