I purchased a refurbished Samsung Galaxy phone, I had a liquid screen protector put on it right away which I was told it came with a 1 year warranty if it breaks. 2 months after purchase, I dropped the phone and broke the screen. The screen was replaced under the warranty, I had to pay the $300.00 up front and was then reimbursed. When I picked the phone back up, I had asked the employee if they put the liquid glass back on again, and he said oh I'm sorry. He quickly grabbed the swab thing, wiped it real quick and said here you go. Anyway, I specifically then asked him, "What happens now if I drop and break the screen again?" (Apparently dropping and breaking my screens is a habit regardless of what case or protector I do have). The employee said it will be covered, just give us a call again. I said ok sounds good (my sister was my witness). Imagine that...Exactly 12 days later, the FIRST time I dropped my phone guess what? Scrroke immediately (the 1st time I dropped it 100's of times before it finally gave). So I sent them a messaged and called and guess what? I was given FALSE information! My device is NOT covered! The employee was wrong!!! Why? Because I got a new screen, new liquid glass...therefore I was suppose to repurchase the insurance. I would have NEVER left there without insurance, EVER! I am beyond mad, I still can't use my phone, the cracks in it have made the phone screen wacko so it don't work! They were willing to give me a little discount and gave a new screen put in. They said current price is $329.00 ( which I paid $300.00 13 days prior) and then minus $70.00. Mind you, the cost of the phone and the liquid glass I paid over $400.00 and only had the phone 2 months. No its not their fault I broke it once again, however it is their employees fault i was given false information and now I have a phone i can't use or afford to have fixed so I had to go back using my old phone. They should have sucked up the mistake this one time and that employee should of been delt with, not me! Again, never ever would I have left there without insurance again. Mind you. I think he was in a hurry to get me out the door as it was 15 minutes to closing time when I picked the phone up and then...o no he forgot the liquid glass so let's do a slop job in dab it on quick n get her out the door. So yeah, not happy at all. Actually makes my stomach sink. Aren't customers usually suppose to be always right? In this case I am right! Oh and then I even asked about them buying the phone back as they do buy phones and was told nope sorry the screen is cracked. I have saved each and every conversation I have with them and I will eventually figure this out one...
Read moreI called to ask about replacing a headphone jack and they told me it wouldn’t be worth it and that I could buy a new pair of headphones for the same price. I was surprised and asked them if it would cost $200 (the original price of my headphones) and they said no. I asked them what it would cost and they said $40-$60. We chatted that at this price it would be entirely cost effective to fix the headphones and I said I’d like to proceed. They informed me about the diagnostic cost, $40, and that this would go towards repair cost. After dropping my headphones off and paying the fee for the “diagnostic” I already had diagnosed they told me it needed a new headphone jack and it would cost $129. When I confronted them about this discrepancy they first denied ever saying that it would cost $40-$60, then said I must’ve talked to a different repair shop (even though they sent me texts directly after speaking), insisted I misheard, then later said they were actually telling me what cheap headphones would cost when they said those numbers. Ludicrous, the conversation at that point was not about cheap headphones but about their repair costs and both of us agreed it would be cost effective to do the repair at the price I was quoted for the headphones I was repairing. Even if this was poor communication on their part the fee for the unneeded diagnostics ethically should have been refunded to me- it needed no diagnostics I had already TOLD them what it needed. I 100% feel completely swindled. I verified with a professional the cost effectiveness of the situation and then they attempted to charge me what a replacement pair of headphones of the same brand and model would’ve costed me. They stated they thought it was because maybe I was sentimental??? I had the entire cost effectiveness conversation with whom I thought was a professional who told me the price and then agreed with me it would be a cost effective choice!!! They wasted My time, my gas, and took my money and ran. Zero stars if possible. Crooks. Support an HONEST local business. There are probably a good number of other places in the area to...
Read moreAbsolutely NOT where you want to sell your phone: dude watched me check out his 14 Pro Max pricing while evaluating my 15 Pro Max (which is flawless and barely used); their 14 Pro Max was priced at $830 and dude had the stones to offer me $250 🤣 Could only laugh and inform him my best pawn shop offer so far was $560. My best eBay offer so far was $850 (that Kenyan refused to pay so he could try to offer $810 then $800 but he was getting rejected out of spite at that point). The average already sold eBay buy it now price is $700 currently (for AVERAGE condition phones mind you) AND there's a plethora of online reseller companies willing to fork out $700 for a nearly perfect 15 PM (check out sellcell.com for proof).
I've legit NEVER received such an insulting low ball offer for anything in my life: at best that was 35% of fair market retail, at worst it was 29% of fair market retail. Pawn shops will give you 50+% all day every day.
*UPDATE ON 2/27/25: Sold it a week ago to a Madison local on Facebook marketplace for $700, so you can rest assured you'll get at LEAST 64% LESS here than Facebook and at least 55% less here than any reputable pawn shop that has any clue about the resale market, any clue about fair pricing, and any desire to not make a bold attempt to literally rape their potential customers with predatory pricing models. SERIOUSLY, AVOID THESE CRIMINALS AT ALL COSTS.
Do NOT get conned here. You're guaranteed to be better off on eBay, Craigslist, sellcell, or...
