Customer service at this location has become quite abysmal lately. I had a 20% off coupon in my inbox, and could not load the email at the store. The clerk refused to honor the coupon, even though she could see the subject line of the email and the body of text. She said because the barcode image did not load she could not honor the coupon. She also said that the Wi-Fi in the store was not working at the moment and so I was “out of luck“. She advised me that I need to be sure to load any coupons prior to entering the store. I attempted to go near the doors to see if the coupon would load, and it did not. Rather than fighting the issue, and further delaying the five people in line behind me, I gave up. Previously, I have been assisted by clerks that would help me and scan the barcode that they keep at the register. It’s obvious that I’m in their program, as I entered my phone number, and also received their emails. I was very disappointed that this clerk would dig her heels in on this issue and force others to wait because of her stubborn attitude. Also, customers beware that they are only accepting exact change at the moment. It is posted that if you do not have exact change, they will not...

WiFi never works and phone reception is poor in the building for some carriers, so use of the app is limited. This matters because their app is where you find your coupons and rewards account...but you need a connection for that. WiFi in oversized stores is pretty standard so I'm surprised this is an ongoing issue.
A return from a previous curbside pickup couldn't be rung up as a receipted return because apparently the email with order details and number isn't useful to their system, though the Michael's site says that's sufficient for returns. Ended up with in store credit which worked for my current needs, but on other days would've been quite irritating.
Beginner level items have been out of stock multiple years when I've checked in early December for holiday gifts. I.e. polymer clay tools are available today, but all of them under $10 are sold out.
This store is still my go-to for crafting items, but never spontaneously. I only go after taking screenshots of everything I may...
Read moreI ordered custom framing online May 19 and brought my piece into the store either May 23rd or 24th. I wasn't given a timeline but Michael's website says 7-10 days. Beginning of June, I hadn't heard anything so I emailed them. June 9th I get an email that says they ordered the wrong size frame(???), had to reorder it, and that will add another 10 days to my order. June 19th or 20th, I still haven't heard anything and I was in the area so I go inside and ask about my order. The (very sweet) girl told me the new frame had just arrived so it should be done in the next 2-3 days. It is now June 27th and I STILL have not heard anything and I'm tired of chasing people around for updates. I understand things happen but it would be nice if I was sent updates instead of having to call or go in once a week to find out what the hell is going on. I did give two stars because the people I've talked to have been really nice and helpful. I like Michaels as a store but I don't recommend their...
