We love Tiger Rock Martial Arts and their instructors. Our family was returning from South Korea where our 7 year old son studied Tae Kwon Do. We had a hard time finding a program for him that supported his growth and needs. After touring Tiger Rock and meeting Chris we decided to give their free promotion a try. We loved the interaction between the instructors and our son. Our son loved the mixed martial arts style. After being in a structured Tae Kwon Do discipline it was just what he needed to further his growth. Chris, the Petra's, and other instructors take their time to teach multiple disciplines that are great for building confidence, discipline and strength. They go out of their way to get to know the kids one on one and show great patience. Their system is progressive and gives the kids time to develop their skills at their own pace. Mr. Knighten and his team are the best Martial Arts instructors we have had. The schedule is very flexible especially if you have other kids/sports activities you can choose which days/times to attend. We have been going since 2022 and my son loves it. Mr. Knighten and his team focus on building the core skills with Tiger Rock Martial Arts in spending one week focusing on FORMs, one week focusing on BOARDS, one week focusing on KICKS and so on. The instructors are great, fun and knowledgeable about their craft and will take the time to show your kids how to do something. They are always encouraging and willing to stop what they are doing to give a pep talk to you kids (and parents) when you're having a moment before a competition. Our family has enjoyed attending TRMA in Madison for several years. We were initially attracted to Tiger Rock for several reasons - no long term contracts, belt ranks can be transferred to any other Tiger Rock location in the US, convenient location, reasonable pricing, and talented instructor team. The instructor team balances martial arts discipline with compassion and age appropriate growth mindset principles. The staff keeps the studio clean and stocked with up to date training equipment.
