Dollar General — Local services in Madisonville

When I have a small item or two that I need but do not want to go to Walmart l like to swing by this Dollar General. There is only about a 50% chance that what ever item l need will be there BUT it will more likely than not be cheaper than what is at Walmart and checkout will be very quick with no long lines at the cash register. Their selection of seasonal items is surprisingly good for it's size; there l have found metal hanging baskets with coconut fiber liners for just $4 each (they will last multiple years), many jumbo sized decorative flower pots for $8, quality Halloween supplies, Christmas Decor, and lots of summer fun water supplies. Obnoxiously, despite it's rather small size it can be difficult to find items at first as the organization there is poor. You can always count on them to have; brand name household cleaners of all kinds, charcoal and other grilling supplies, baby supplies (the DG brand diapers and wipes are surprisingly good quality), scented candles, sodas, soap. I have been disappointed to find they did not have some basic items such as deodorant and hand sanitizer. To sum it up it's selection of edible products is very limited holding only the most basic of pantry necessities while the selection of non-edible items is fair and...

The dollar General on 68 hwy in Madisonville are some of the rudest cashiers I've ever met every time I go in there. Last time I went in there about a week ago and had to stand at least 7 minutes wow the cashier was putting away stuff in one of the aisles so I could not cash out they also tell you to hold on while they put away stock I have better things to do then to wait for a cashier to pay for...

Amazing staff well organized store easy to locate anything with easy. I have seen alot of Dollar General stores and I must say this one is the cleanest by far my hat is off to the 2nd shift guys Cristal Parish goes above and beyond to get customer satisfaction she always has a warm glow about her that always seems to Brighton my day also Jerry Major he is my hero.
