Update April, 2025 I know that Google reviews only allows one review per business under your Google account so in this review I am going to include the trainers at Maxon that I worked with in the past few weeks.
The first trainer that I worked with was Chris (Christopher Hayward) and he was very patient and very skillful at showing what the different parts of a gun are and how to work with them. I was interested in the S&W EZ 9mm so thatâs what I used to shoot in the range. I was able to assess the gun and learned how to control it, and how much the recoil can affect your shooting. I was very grateful to have worked with Chris and he is someone that deserves more than 5 stars.
The second trainer that I worked with was Mo (Meng Fu) and he also had a lot of patience and showed me a few more items that were necessary to learn to be able to aim better and hit my desire targets. His skills and very detailed teaching style helped me achieve the goals I had at that point including what were the easier guns to work with. Another great trainer that deserves 5 stars.
The last trainer I worked with was Jorman (Quintana) who was not only very knowledgeable, but he also showed me more tricks to be able to shoot accurately, but also how to control the recoil to keep my shots on target. He worked very hard at getting me a good price for the second gun I was going to buy, so here we have another skilled trainer whom I had the good luck to work with and should be given more than 5 stars, and as stated in your site I am hoping these trainers are able to get the bonus they are supposed to get when they are given 5 stars. Truthfully, you cannot go wrong with Maxon because not only they have outstanding trainers working there but this is the place where you can take any type of training and get the best talent and well skilled staff, and also the best prices when looking to purchase guns or any items related so I also recommend Maxon and give this establishment 5 stars.
March, 2025 I scheduled a private instruction session for Friday February 14, 2025 at 12:00. I was going to arrive early and check out the rental guns first. I struck up a conversation with David Sa, a gentleman behind the desk who is an instructor, somebody who is very knowledgeable and was the instructor at my session. I told him that racking was difficult for me, so we looked at firearms and his suggestions for my issue. The gun I wanted to rent The Equalizer, was available, and when we started the training, he took his time and explained everything about the gun and was very patient going at my pace. We then proceeded to the range and began the gun-shooting portion of the course. Since I was new to this, he was very detailed and made that portion of the training easy for me. He also has great people skills when it comes to the people, he is training. Maxon has a lot of training classes, so if you're looking for one, be sure to ask for David Sa, as an instructor. In addition to ensuring that you depart with the results you were expecting, David will use his extensive knowledge to ensure that you realize...
Read moreI took the 5 hour pistol training 1. We got there little late at 10:07 because we got lost but we thought it would be fine thinking the door opens at 10am, so they might settle down for a bit but no! They started right awayđ So please get there on time maybe even before the door opens! Don't bee late!! Instructor Shawn was very informative, funny and knowledgeable. I learned so much about not only the technicality of pistols but also a precautious safety rules for house hold with kids, etc. mMy husband took a course at a different place like month ago and he learned a lot more in this course. 5 hour sounds long but the time really flew by! Last hour was for shooting. We used 2 revolvers using .22 and .38 ammunition, and three hand guns. First 9mm, then .40 and .45 with 1911(I think?). I wish they told me which gun was which because this wouldâve been great way to tell which gun feels the best for the future purchase. Or I shouldâve taken the photos. I might be saying the wrong names and wrong ways here. We are going back for pistol training 2 (3 hour) for next Sunday. This course definitely made me think of the phrase âknowledge is powerâ and made me feel empowered learning about the pistols. Canât wait for the next class!!
+++ 2/28/23 I'm adding more review here because my husband and I went back for more classes. We took Pistol 2 classes like I mentioned above and it was very cool. Instructor name was Kevin and he was very informative as well. We get to try shooting almost more than dozens of pistols for last hour for conceal and carry and I found my favorite gun!! I purchased Walther PDP F series few weeks after from class at Maxon and process of buying it was a great experience. Luis who helped us with the purchase was very helpful and patient with us.
We went back last Friday(2/24/23) 6pm for our shot gun class and it was an awesome class. Instructor David Ciecko is by far our favorite instructor because of his style of teaching. Very engaging with his students and he was very helpful with questions. Very clear communication and he was also very funny. A lot of guys from the class at the end told him they had fun to him and we did too! for shooting portion, I started with 12 gauge and it was giving me too much recoil, so he changed it to 20 gauge for me and that was so sweetđ„ș. Overall, it was very fun class. We are coming back for CCL class next month and hopefully Rifle training. I wish they offer more classes!! Taking classes at Maxon is so fun. Fun...
Read moreI went to a basic pistol training class yesterday. Very educational and I highly recommend it to anyone even slightly interested in learning how to use a firearm. I wasnt sure what to really expect going in but it was a very pleasant and interesting experience. I was one of two men in the eight person class. Everyone was probably thirties and up in age. There was a retiree there that wanted to learn how to use the gun she'd bought a year ago. There was a woman who was inspired by the memes around the shooting competition at the Olympics last year. Another person had taken private shooting lessons already but was there for the same reason I was, which was to learn how to test and pick the best pistol for yourself.
The class was four hours of slides and instruction and the last hour was on the range. You get taught the difference between single action and double action handguns, revolvers, and modern striker-fired pistols. Hands-on practice loading and clearing to make sure a weapon is unloaded, all kinds of practical safety stuff (particularly storage) and the laws around transporting a pistol. I was expecting to already know most of it, but was surprised to discover many gaps in my knowledge. The instructor, Shawn, made sure to keep things entertaining and answered every question. He clearly had a ton of knowledge and experience about all things pistol-related but never acted condescending or criticize a question or answer.
The range was the best part though. I've honestly never been to a shooting range, just shot guns a couple times in backyards. Walking up to the building and hearing gunfire sort of rattled me instinctually, and on the range it was even harder for me to get over the random blasts happening so close by. But It was nice to get actual proper training in the technique so I could learn to just focus on the target and squeeze through the trigger without flinching. You adapt pretty quickly to the noise, honestly. We started with a .22 revolver and worked our way through a .38 special, Beretta 9mm, a.40 Glock, and then a .45 M1911.
I came out of it feeling a lot more comfortable handling a handgun, and I'm excited to go through class #2 and learn more about clearing jams (and I had a couple just with the limited time I had on the range) and to handle more subcompacts. I wasn't really considering getting my CCL until I went to Maxons and now I think I've discovered a new hobby and goal. I really think more folks should take a...
