Sea N Soul Surf — Local services in Malibu

I know there are many good reviews about this store, but here is my story: I purchased a pair of RL sweatpants from this store back in October 2024. Initially, it said my order would take 7-10 days to arrive. I waited, but it never came. I had to search online for their contact number and call them. The first time I spoke to someone, he was dismissive, saying, “OK, OK, what else?” and eventually accused me of being a scammer. I tried to explain that I had made a purchase and even offered to share my order number, but he refused to listen. The next time I called, I managed to speak to John, the owner. He told me that sending my item posed a "high risk" for him and questioned why I didn’t purchase directly from the RL website. He then suggested I Zelle him the amount again before he would proceed with shipping the item—very unprofessional, to say the least. At the end of that call, we agreed he would cancel my purchase and issue a refund. However, that didn’t happen. The following week, I called again, and he said he had been busy and promised to process the refund right after our call. But, once again, he didn’t do it. I had to keep calling repeatedly, but the store stopped answering my calls and eventually, I believe, blocked my number. So, while this store accuses others of being "high risk," they themselves are highly untrustworthy and borderline scammers. Be cautious if you decide to buy...

Sea N Soul Surf and Coffee is a fantastic stop in Malibu by Zuma Beach. We stopped in for surf board rentals and were impressed with the selection of boards available for rent. They also had a huge selection of beautiful hand shaped boards for sale. We looked at fun boards, fish shaped and ended up taking out long boards. We also had our choice of wetsuits to rent. The rental boards and suits were all in great condition and made for a wonderful day of surfing. After the surf trip we tried Sea N Soul's coffee. It was hard to choose one option. I never leave reviews but I had to when it comes to this coffee shop, back in May my wife and I were headed to Escondido Falls and really needed to use the bathroom, we found the adjacent liquor store, purchased some items and asked about a restroom, clerk gives me a stern "no" so as we walk back to the car the man who was behind us in line starts calling to us asking if we'd like to use a restroom we can use his, he runs this little upscale surf boutique-like store with a coffee shop, real awesome experience and I told him I run a store also and he just gained customer by just being nice, overall awesome experience, and the coffee was some of the best I've ever had, thanks John!
