Bassett Furniture — Local services in Manchester

Extremely disappointed with the low quality of the furniture we purchased from Bassett. We purchased a couch and loveseat - and paid substantially more for the highest grade cushions and woven fabric. Shortly after delivery, through our inspection of the cushions, we determined (and Bassett confirmed) that the cushions were low grade - not what we paid for. Although they replaced the cushions, had we not “inspected” them, we would have been ripped off. Even with the highest quality cushions, they are now misshapen after only 2 years. There are only 2 of us in the house, so the couch and loveseat don’t get a lot of use. Also, the highest quality woven fabric is pilling quite a bit. Bassett considers pilling “wear-and-tear.” The pilling started within 6 months of delivery and continues. We also purchased a very expensive electric leather recliner. Within a week or so after delivery it started making noises and a week or so later bolts and screws fell out of the bottom of the chair. They repaired the chair. We also purchased a very expensive kitchen/dining table and chairs. Very heavy and sturdy. One of the chairs had a crack in the back at the time of delivery. Although the crack was/is small, it is at a location where snagging clothing and skin was a concern. Rather than simply replace the chair, Bassett proposed to send a repairman to disassemble the chair, remove the part that is cracked and then reassemble the chair. These are wooden chairs; screwed and glued together. They acknowledged that the chair would be less sturdy thereafter - but, that was our only option. We chose to keep the defective chair. Again, why not simply replace the chair? Did I mention that we also paid a significant amount of money for extra warranties covering all of this furniture??! We will never buy from Bassett again. Stay far away from Bassett Furniture. In spring 2021 we purchased $5,000.00 worth of furniture from Bassett. Unfortunately, they scammed us into also purchasing the furniture protection plan they offered through a company called Guardsman. (Just a side note, they've now switched to a different company called Guardian.). Unfortunately, Guardsman has proven to be anything but a furniture protection plan. Instead, it's been a headache. We reported a urine stain on our couch on November 29, 2024. They didn't send an outsourced technician (via Restauro Co and Tri-County Furniture Service) until December 21, 2024. The technician was unable to remove the stain. Yet, instead of reporting his inability to remove the stain, he reported that he had in fact removed the stain. Consequently, since December 24, 2024, we've been in a 'pass the buck' loop between Bassett who 'claims no skin in this game' and 'can't help us to Guardsman who passes the responsibility to their third party company Restauro Co and Tri-County Furniture Service (both out of Florida). We can truly tell you that Bassett's representation of their furniture protection plan was anything but forthright and honest. They failed to provide whole and accurate details regarding their protection plan, the outsourcing of work to third-party contractors and how difficult obtaining service and furniture replacement really is. Fortunately for us, we have the means to pursue litigation against Bassett, Guardsman, Restauro Co and Tri-County Furniture Services. If this is not a situation you want to undertake or even deal with, stay away from Bassett. Your money and time are better...

I would like to take this time to say that Basset Furniture Manchester is completely amazing. The staff is wonderful. They’re very helpful if you want a great place to either work or go in and shop for furniture. This is the best place to go. You get the best quality of furniture and the best staff. They’re absolutely amazing When you walk in the door, they greet you right away they’re always smiling they have great attitudes great personalities and they’re all hard workers Bryan, the General manager is also very, very helpful Bryan is Amazing. He has a great staff go in there ask for Bryan or anybody to help you tell them that Tammy K sent you They are all truly Amazing.
