I sell my clothes in this location several times. Lately each time I have been going, there have been less items they are taking and more excuses as to why. Recently, I went in with a large garbage bag of items and Tanya sorted my items. I went to pick them up in the afternoon and she told me that they would buy 5 items at around $20+ but they could not give me cash then, just a store credit or trade but if I come back early in the morning during the week (when they open), she could give me cash. I told her I would return during the week and she said she would note that I would be back. I asked her for a receipt or a copy of the items and she said they didn't do that. So I wrote down the items, her name and left. A few days later when I was off, I got there at opening time and went in to the register. Julie (the owner) helped me and I told her that Tanya had already sorted my items and I was here to pick up my check. Julie proceeded to get my items and told me that she could now only offer me $2+ for only 2 items because she looked through them and found some problems (one was sized wrong? and one had a spot on it-it still had the tags on it- and the others they were not taking). I told her that Tanya had told me differently and she said that Tanya was new and didn't really know. I asked her that if I took the credit the other day, they would have given me the $20+? She said they would have just "eaten" the loss. I told her to give me my things and I left.
That was completely unprofessional and ridiculous. They did not even call me to let me know things had changed and they had my phone number! And employees should not be working there if they are not trained to receive the merchandise. Customers should not pay for their mistakes. I think they only want you to take the store credit and not the cash because they must be suffering like all the retail stores. But they should not advertise this way. I had just downsized my closet and cleaned out, I didn't want more to add to it! My daughter worked at a chain like this one (Plato's Closet) and she said that she never did business like this or refused to give a receipt to someone when they asked for it. I won't be wasting my time there again. Not a good way to...
Read moreAfter crying during therapy (knee injury from an accident) I decided to treat myself to something nice, as a woman we all know when you look good you feel good. As I was limping to the dressing room to try on clothes, my father called to check on me, I answered on speaker because my hands were full with items. As I approached the dressing room Stacie asked me if I could take my phone off of speaker because my call was loud, I told her I will as soon as I can put some of my stuff done. Now instead of anyone asking me for help with my items, since I was limping, they decide to embarrass me and scold me in front of the store for having my call on speaker! As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough the items, I didn’t need to try on were moved from in front of the dressing room apparently by “Casper the friendly ghost” since no employee knew where they disappeared too. Only one employee tried to help me find them, when they were located by a customer in front of the store by a sequin display! I will not be patronizing this business again, until I receive an apology, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for one either! Shame on that store/employee!
Update: they respond after 4 months and accuse me of using profanity on my phone call, first of the audacity - seeing as my father doesn’t curse, second SHAME on you for trying to make me look bad, third please upload the stores video footage showing multiple people complaining about my phone call!!! This place doesn’t try hard enough to cover their racism, and treatment of people who don’t...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. I’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism in an establishment, and I will not be returning or recommending this place to friends or family. Shopping with my mom & sister, both my sister & I had negative experiences. My sister handed one employee a broken hanger, and she rudely threw it on the floor behind her? I asked for a dressing room & another employee rolled her eyes acting as if I was such a burden for trying on clothes. When I handed her the items I didn’t want, she didn’t speak & rolled her eyes. We overheard the same two employees saying “it takes only 2 people to mess things up” - talking about my sister and I. As in them having to actually do work & put up clothes customers have tried on. I had 6 items. My sister had 5. There were other customers who were smaller than us, and weren’t treated as such. If you don’t like your job or like dealing with the general public or people who look different than you - get...
