Twin Sushi — Restaurant in Mandeville

I have been going here for years and it is the absolute best sushi on the northshore.

I shouldn't be writing this review in the middle of a 48 hour fast, but it is extremely important everyone knows how good this place is.

The appetizers are fantastic. I absolutely have to get the agedashi tofu every time I go. The way those bonito flakes dances atop those golden fried tofu cubes mirrors the way my soul dances every time I visit this establishment. The tofu steaks are chef's kiss, and the tempura appetizer hits the spot every single time.

The clear soup is amazing. A savory but without a strong scent or heavy taste. The miso soup is fantastic. The way the umami washes over my palette seems to also wash away the stress of the day as I am transported to a world of slightly pungeant, flavorful bliss.

The sushi is so good. So fresh. The raw fish never has a strange texture nor fishy smell or taste. It's like little bites of heaven served in a bite sized roll of rice. The crawfish or shrimp rolls are so good - just the right amount of flavor without being overwhelming or overfilling. There are plenty of more complex rolls for the adventurous eater, and every single one I have tried has been great.

The proprietress herself is always extremely friendly and professional and it is always a joy to see her! She will keep you coming back just as much as her world class dishes.

We decided to come and try the place out tonight as we live a lot closer and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was very clean and quiet, not busy. The customer service was amazing, and out of all of the sushi restaurants in Mandeville, you will not find service as good as this. The grilled gyoza was delicious, honestly my favorite gyoza I’ve had in a while. We got the shrimp tempura and the spicy crunchy roll as well, and it was so fresh. We tried Twin Sushi for lunch. The restaurant is on the smaller side and had their tables nicely spaced. We ordered the seaweed salad and two rolls. The seaweed salad was crispy, very flavorful and enough for two people. Both rolls were absolutely delicious. There was plenty filling inside the roll and very fresh fish on the top.
