I had an appointment on 1/23 that I had scheduled on 11/24 and it was canceled 20 minutes before my appointment start time. I was 4 minutes away from the salon after making the 30 minute drive when I had received the phone call my appointment was canceled due to an emergency of not feeling well. I understand emergencies like this happen and am compassionate to the situation, but being canceled on less than 30 minutes before is both unprofessional and rude. I would have appreciated being contacted sooner so I could have avoided leaving my house and not driving an hour for no reason. I realize it can be difficult to contact someone sooner during an emergency, but I feel like when feeling ill is the cause for canceling, reaching out ASAP is necessary to avoid looking unprofessional. I was offered to be rescheduled, but the first date I was given was more than 3 weeks away from my canceled appointment. She did offer another date, but it unfortunately didn't work and was almost 2 weeks away, too. This also felt frustrating, because after waiting 2 months for my appointment (this was my choice to wait, not because of her availability, she does have decent availability when booking) and being canceled on at the very last minute, I felt like more could have been done to get me in closer to my appointment rather than having me wait almost another month. On top of it all, I am also a new client to this salon and stylist and had scheduled this appointment specifically booked on my birthday to treat myself and have my hair done for dinner with my family. Kathy Hopkins cut my hair: it was literally the best haircut I have ever had and it made me so happy. I have some postpartum hair loss and this haircut made me have so much fun and volume and I feel so much more confident. Kathy was incredibly nice and accommodated me having to bring my baby.
