Fair's Nursery — Local services in Maple Grove

Phil, the owner and landscape designer, came highly referred from a garden club. I have been trying to reach him since May. I have left several messages with the staff and on his answering machine. It’s now the end of August and still no return call. Don’t be fooled by the website making it seem like you can call them up and they’ll get back to you right away. I understand spring/summer is busy but over 3 months of no return calls is ridiculous. If you’re that busy maybe you need to hire more landscape designers so they can come out and give customers a design and quote within a respective time frame! We purchased dirt from here and it was excellent dirt but I won’t be back to spend my money here again after my experience with how the owner treats new customers. It’s a shame!

We were not green thumbs, not even close, when we purchased our two new Maple trees from Fairs Nursery. The staff was very helpful in the purchase process. Phil helped us tremendously in the planting process, helping us with find what might be the best for locations in our yard. We scheduled them to plant on a Friday less than the week of purchase but they planted two days sooner. They of course called us to clear the move up in time and after planting the crew gave us instructions for watering. Overall not bad and I like to stop by to see what they have. Prices are a bit on the high side, which I wouldn’t have an issue with at all considering they are local, but they are just a little too high. If they had a more unique inventory, especially pollinator friendly and natives I could justify it more. I don’t want to pay so much more for the same boring hosta or fern Home Depot carries. Would have liked to see a larger selection of native plants instead.

Their “cabin grass” mix is an awesome blend of fescues and no bluegrass. I added clover seed to it as well to redo part of my lawn. Great germination...
