iâve been here twice now and both times it has been crazy busy which is a great thing for them.
the food is delicious and i really enjoy the coffee flights. my biggest quip with the coffee flights is that they donât label them on the trays so thereâs no way to differentiate between the drinks (unless itâs obvious like the pink strawberry latte). most coffee shops will write directly on the trays but even putting a little laminated slip on the side would be helpful as the cold brew flights are basically non-distinguishable because they all look the same.
as for service, the girls working the counter are friendly enough. the girl that was preparing the food however was wearing a baggy shirt jacket and her sleeves were covering half of her hands and hung so low that they were dragging across the food prep area. i get it being cold but imo if youâre handling food your clothes shouldnât be touching the food area. the other girls making drinks were wearing sweatshirts but had their sleeves pulled up a little bit so they were out of the way. i feel like this is just common sense. her hair was also pulled back in a claw clip but she had the front pieces hanging out so they were in her face which kind of defeats the purpose of pulling your hair back...
overall itâs a great shop with delicious food and coffee, definitely plan on getting here early to reserve a spot, the weekends get insanely busy and crowded, and the wifi is not good so donât come with the intention of doing any work because you wonât be able to. they also have a play area for children so it isnât a quiet work space either.
total for a cold brew flight and half sandwich was $19, latte flight with a full...
Read moreThis place is cute and geared towards the generations that embrace social media. There are always seasonal drink flights, and the menu has plenty of offerings. With that said, I only come here when Iâm too lazy to drive into the cities for a cafe visit and want to sit somewhere prettier than Starbucks.
I have probably come here around 5 or 6 times now, and each of my visits has been of consistent quality, so I donât feel too guilty writing a ho-hum review.
The place is usually staffed by teenagers that are polite, but I have never had a drink that I would consider well-made. I donât consider myself a coffee snob, but I spent many years working downtown Minneapolis and was definitely spoiled by the city standards for a coffee drink. I normally get a cappuccino or a basic latte, and getting a decent foam seems to be a sore spot.
My other issue is that the only time you get a drink in an actual reusable cup is is if you get a flight. This often leads to empty bussing bins and an overflowing trash can. Besides the waste factor, drinking out of a paper cup definitely diminishes the drink experience. I would feel similarly if served wine in a solo cup at a restaurant.
The food is fine, but most people can make a similar quality meal at home if they have a grill pan or panini press. Todayâs soup was also served lukewarm.
Will I be coming back? Probably, but I definitely prefer my espresso drinks made by heavily tattooed 30 year olds who are a bit more engaged...
Read moreStopped at Annabelle House on a Sunday morning. Itâs a cute little placed tucked in on the main drag through town. It was packed, but we were able to grab the last open table. We ordered the flight of the day â fatty mint (hot); tag, youâre it (hot); snowas (cold); and pucker up (cold). Think the theme was girl scout cookies?! Snowas was the favorite: caramel and coconut, topped with coconut cold foam and chocolate drizzle. Delicious. The coconut flavor put it over the top. Fatty Mint was the runner-up: milk chocolate, mint, espresso and steamed milk topped with whipped cream and mint cookie crumbs. Tasted just like a thin mint cookie. Smooth and minty. Tag, youâre it: was good, tasted like hot chocolate flavored with peanut butter. Pucker up: lemonade with candied lemon. This was disappointing, tasted like very watery lemonade. Service was great and fast for as busy as they were. The people never stopped streaming in. Overall, it was a great experience and weâd love to come back to try the ever-changing flight options. Food selection looked good too â...
