I initially took my laptop in for a charging port repair in JANUARY! While repairing the port, Tommy GLUED my laptop screen to my keyboard. While trying to pry them apart, he damaged my screen. He stated that he would replace the screen but there was an issue with the hard drive. I told him it’s a brand new laptop and that there should be no issue with the hard drive, stating that the computer and screen worked perfectly before he further damaged it! It took him a month to state that he was “trying to find a screen” for a 15” laptop. Another month passed and he stated that he would replace my laptop. He initially stated that he would try and replace my laptop with a Walmart brand and when I advised him that Walmart does not carry my laptop and that theirs are much cheaper. He stated he would find another vendor. I call him back Today, April 1st and he tells me he tried to find a similar laptop on Wish but my model is “sold out” everywhere. I stated so what do we do at this point? He offered me $300 for my $1200 laptop. When I disagreed about what he offered me, he yelled thru the phone “well you can sue me!” and hung up! That is EXACTLY what I will be doing! There was NEVER an issue with a power cord..only the port and seeing how this was 11 months ago and I moved from Arkansas to Minnesota, what “friend” do you have me on camera saying I loaned it too. The response to this review is comical. The only issue with my laptop was that it stopped charging and you stated it needed a port replacement. In the process of fixing the port, you used glue on my laptop and somehow managed to glue my screen to the keyboard. You broke the screen which was never the issue. You then tried to replace a $1200 Dell laptop with a $300 HP from Walmart and said you were ordering parts off of wish. It took you three months of having my laptop before I got frustrated because you were obviously trying to avoid replacing my laptop. I’m laughing at the fact that you “have camera footage of me saying something I did not EVER say.” I relocated to Minnesota and didn’t know anyone....
Read moreI've taken my laptop in before and he swiftly fixed the issues and added some well-needed upgrades. The speed improved dramatically, and there were no problems for a few months, but minor crashes started to happen here and there. Nothing big, just a bit annoying. I took it back in for a quick fix, but it is worse now than it was the very first time I took it in :( I lost all my data and pics- years of downloaded content not backed up on the cloud-- except what was in my pictures folder. (he'd backed that up on an external HD). A newer version of windows was installed (which I agreed to) but now it runs at a snail's speed! I don't know much about computers so I'm putting my trust in an expert. I wish I could simply go back to the old version of what I had before. Now I can't browse the internet longer than 45 minutes before it crashes and needs to reboot several times. I got so depressed that I shut it down and left it on my desk for a month. I don't know what to do with it now, except spend even more money to take it into a big box store, which I was trying to avoid. I'm not trying to deter business from Tommy; he did me really well the first time around and I was thoroughly pleased with his work. In hindsight he seemed rushed or maybe frustrated that my laptop wasn't doing what he wanted, I don't know.. I wish I'd gotten a receipt at least, but not like that would help me recover all that I've lost. Just be mindful. Make sure you understand everything that...
Read moreI was looking for a professional to help me restore Windows 10 on a working drive with the issue being that my boot drive collapsed but all my files were still in tact.
After needless showmanship, Tommy failed to help grant me the serenity of mind I needed to leave my data in his hands. In this case, I came back on a second day for Tommy to try again, but Tommy was, again, unable to do the work in my presence and insisted I left my drive.
Ultimately, I trusted to leave my hard drive in Tommy’s hands, and he was unable to render the services for which we agreed.
I paid, in-advanced, $100, and I’m left, currently, without a working drive. Tommy denied refund and claims to have misunderstood what I needed from him which should have been unlikely considering the hours I spent at his shop and the three trips I took to get there.
I didn’t have a positive experience. It would be helpful for Tommy if he would confirm it for himself what’s to be expected of him, and not make it the burden of the customer to articulate the very steps he needs to do for the work to be completed.
I’ll stay...
