The Food Emporium — Local services in Maplewood

A beautiful set up, neat and clean. But I have never encountered such disinterested—if not mannerless—help in checking out. Sad to say but the young folks (late teens/very young adult) have no business in retail sales dealing with the public. No eye contact, looking past the customer as they speak to co-workers, i find myself wondering where these children were raised. I cant say outright rude but this all adds up to a less than pleasant experience in a place where one spends a considerable amount of money for a single grocery bag. Find myself remembering with some nostalgia “the old Kings Supermarket” that once occupied this same space. Serious...

Update: 10/22- The burger today were a tad better, still none of that amazing sauce they had on that very first one I had, but I asked the dude what sauce it could be and he handed me bbq, I wasn’t bbq. Also, can the burgers not be SOOO well made 😊

The burgers are gradually getting worse. I had one of those little ready to eat burgers from here on the 3rd of Oct and it was AMAZING, flavourful, great price! As the days went by the burgers started having less sauce, less cheese, today - even the patty wasn’t salted....

I am constantly running out of food in my home. With two teenagers, a vegetarian and two more palates to consider, I am constantly on the hunt for fresh food. Green Way Markets has the best bread I have ever seen. It sells out quickly, but I always head straight to the bread aisle when we come here after fencing practice. Then my kids peruse the prepared foods to see what is on offer for dinner. I pick up a few more items to fill the holes in my fridge, and then we are in great shape for the rest...
