Mt Fuji Restaurant — Restaurant in Maplewood

My family ordered 2 lunch bento boxes along with some other items via Uber Eats. Sadly, they did not include the salads that are supposed to come with the bento boxes. When I called to notify them, I was told "it is soup OR salad and since we did not choose, we were given 2 soups." I explained the menu clearly states "Lunch Bento Box $13.50 Comes with California roll, shumai green salad, miso soup, and rice." The woman who answered the phone told me she was new and stated again it is soup or salad, but she would tell the manager and ended the call. I gave the low rating because customer service was lacking to say the least. We all work hard for our money and it is very disappointing when you do not receive what is advertised. It is worse when they imply that you you made the error. I guess gaslighting is the new apology. I have eaten here in the past but after today I will go elsewhere....

My friend and I visited last night after peering into a neighboring thai place and seeing the dead ambiance. So we hopped over to Mt Fuji. The place was crowded on a Friday night, but we were able to get a nice table. The service was excellent, the sushi was better than most places I've visited in New Jersey, and the ambience was great for both family gatherings and first dates (it has a very similar ambience to the Sushi Palace in Somerville.)

The service here is absolutely awful!!!!!! I order a clam salad and a soft shell crab hand roll. After waiting 30 minutes, they tell me that they can not make the clam salad because they did not have the ingredients. So they are neither prepared nor organized. I said ok just bring me the soft shell crab hand roll. I waited another 10 minutes. The time was 11:50 am in the morning and I was the only person in the restaurant. Still no service. Still no food. I got up to leave and they said oh sorry we will make your food now. I told them that I had to leave, paid for my soda (the only thing that the waitress did bring), and left.
