Wayside Country Store — Local services in Marlborough

I have been going to this store for ages. I hadn't come in a while until today (May 9th). I was just wandering around, browsing some of the chocolate when I hear and see one of the ladies working take a calculator out of another employee's hands and yell at them for using a calculator! I was in complete shock because this was in front of multiple customers including myself! This lady then went up to some other gentleman and mocked the poor employee for using the calculator. I saw the employee crying in her car afterwards. This was so unacceptable to me! This is not how a business should be run, I felt so bad for the poor employee and I was embarrassed for her. I talked to her and she told me she was just trying to calculate the change for another customer when her boss ripped it out of her hands. One afternoon my husband and I were out enjoying a drive and ended up in Marlborough, MA. We stumbled on the Wayside Country Store. We decided to stop and go in to poke around. Let me say it is quite a find! It is a quaint store! We thoroughly enjoyed shopping and finding many lovely things. There is a wide variety of merchandise to appeal to everyone. We totally enjoyed browsing selecting our cool finds! When we were ready to check out & pay for our items, we had the pleasure of meeting Eric who was helpful and very friendly! We had a slight problem with a purchased item which was resolved with Eric and the owner, Sarah's, help to my complete satisfaction. Where to even begin?? Staff was painfully slow. Painfully! They have an old cash register, so it doesn't calculate change. I literally had to watch the kid grab the calculator by the register to figure out how much change to give the guy in front of me back. A couple was there with little Johnny and Jenny. Both kids under 7. The parents actually told them to choose what they wanted! Giving young children 50 choices is insane.
