Extreme Family Fitness ™ — Local services in Martinsburg

Extreme Family Fitness has literally been a thorn in my side since January of 2017. They started a "pre-sale" of the pool that they were supposed to have completed sometime in 2017 and I got suckered into it by getting a membership there for me and my wife for 30$ each every month. The reason for the pre-sale was to lock in a price of 30$ a month because shortly after the sale it would go up to at least 50$. Sure that includes an all inclusive membership for the gym but I did NOT get a membership there for that reason. I got it for the pool. If I wanted just a gym I'd go somewhere else cheaper for 10$ a month. But here it is almost OCTOBER of 2018 and there STILL isn't a pool! I tried to get some of my money back from them talking even to the owner and they said there was NOTHING that they could do. They just kept trying to say how good of a deal I had. A good deal??? Yeah I've paid you a total of 1320$ so far for that pool membership and STILL no pool so who is it a good deal for??? Stay away! Very decietfull company and will rob you for an expensive membership that isn't worth it making empty promises...

I left Planet Fitness..long story. This is a real gym. I hope I continue to like it.

No to Xtreme. 9/30 out of $600: $500 worth of personal training sessions. I got the first 2. He cancelled twice, admitted to forgetting about me the third time after promising to be there and I waited on him for 15 mins. I asked him to come in late and he texted "you must really love your legs tonight." Like, huh? So, whatever. BUT When I went in tonight, he berated me for my tone and for calling him a liar, which I didn't even though he flaked on me. I asked to get out of my contract...that happened but with no refund. I asked the trainer to stop talking to me and he yelled at me. He interrupted and yelled at me when I was trying to talk to staff. He verbally admitted to being unprofessional. The staff did nothing. When I went to leave, he blew kisses at me. I feel humiliated, unsafe there, harrassed and like I was intentionally scammed out of over $500. I never want to go back. And I paid my membership of over$100 up front. So, yeah. Ladies, please don't go there. I have text messages so this is not...

Nov. 2, 2020 - Cancelled membership in June due to covid. I was billed in October. Called 3x yesterday, emailed, and called once today. Still no return call. Was told I would be receiving a refund. Have not received refund yet. Still waiting.

It is Nov.24. I started asking them about my refund November 2. Still no refund.

If they don't have the money and are going out of business, they could just tell me. I would understand. They just keep lying about refunding the money and tell me manager is busy working on drywall....

Early Dec.- They don't answer the phone when I call and are not responding to my emails.

As of Dec. 17- I tried calling again with a different phone. Also e-mailed again. No answer/ no response.

I look forward to joining One Life fitness in Martinsburg after Covid is under control. I called them and told them about my experience with Extreme. They let me know that customer service is their...
