Called Schewels last week because I wanted to buy a king sized bed and had a couple of questions. I had already done the research, and knew what i wanted and knew it was in stock and wanted to buy it online. Before i could finish my questions, she told me I'd have to come into the store. I explained that wasn't an option and she clearly didn't want to hear that. The website clearly makes it possible to buy online, so i asked to talk to anyone else who might be able to help. The 2nd lady was nicer, but i asked if they priced matched. She said no, which i could live with except the item i wanted priced matched was a sealy mattress that is price protected from sealy. Which means it should be the same price, no matter the store and they were about $600 more than other stores. I was willing to pay the extra if they'd work with me on a delivery date. She wasn't willing to do so and acted as if they didn't need my business. So I called the nearest competitor, Grand home furnishings. Not only did they answer my questions, I got the exact mattress i wanted for much cheaper, i bought an adjustable base, and a powered reclining chair. Spent close to 6k and will be spending more with them in the coming months. They didn't treat me as just a number and acted like they wanted my business. They also worked with my shipping requirements on everything except for the chair because it wasn't in the warehouse, but i was ok with that. Schewels needs a reminder about what customer service is. And that every phone call is a customer willing to spend their hard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter recently relocating to the north end of Berkeley County, I was in the market for some new furniture. I looked up and read reviews on most of the furniture stores along the 81 Corridor from Hagerstown to Martinsburg, as I pretty much live in the middle. It was very evident that some of these stores have fake reviews. This is easy to spot by reading a few. They tend to mention names of staff repetitively, a different one each time, and for most of these people this is the only review they have ever left! So be cautious not to fall for this tactic! I actually read 2 reviews of this store where the person leaving the review had never even been there, just rode by on a train in the back of their property! Honestly that should not even be allowed! I did, however, decide to visit several in person. End result....I bought my furniture at Schewel's in Martinsburg. The store is a gem, tucked away on a side street just off the interstate. It was very clean, beautifully decorated (and for the holidays as well), and everyone I had contact with was more than friendly. I received my furniture and I am very pleased. There is no doubt I would return to this store for future needs. Not only did they have furniture, but also TV's and appliances too. I'm very glad to have found you Schewels, and I will pass the word on your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a great experience buying a couch and dresser here this past weekend. Iāve never purchased from Schewels before but found that my experience here was much better than times Iāve bought furniture. I walked in and wasnāt immediately pounced on by a sales associate which I appreciate. I found a couch and just as I was turning to head towards the sales associate desk she started coming my way. Debbie was extremely helpful talked me through the ordering process since both items I wanted were currently out of stock. She walked me through their extremely generous furniture policy which seems like a great deal. She then lead me back to sign up for financing and after waiting about 5-10 minutes Edie came to get me and walked me through financing options. She also gave me more information on the delivery schedule and a brochure on the furniture policy showing what it covers and the contact information for claims. From the time I walked in to the time I left was maybe 30 minutes and Iād say 10 of those were me trying to decide on a couch. 10/10 service and...
