What a crock. I took my children yesterday. Once we found this store it's a place I was frequently stopping at.
I purchased a DVD player for my youngest for his birthday. Unfortunately, it didn't work. So yesterday we stopped in (2 of my children and I) and I was on a mission to find a replacement DVD player that worked.
I went to the electronic section. There were about 8 DVD players IN THE SECTION THEY BELONG IN. I tested them, and the one my son picked out was small like we need for the space we have.
I get to the register. It didn't have the price tag, but any time this has happened they just price it out.
The older lady at the register literally runs back to the loading dock instead of calling a manager or another (more experienced) associate to register.
Instead of coming back with a price she comes back without the DVD player, literally lies to my face, and tells me it's a "tester" DVD player. If that was the case, then it wouldn't have been in the middle of ALL THE OTHER DVD PLAYERS. They don't just leave any type of "testing" items out (and from what I was told before they don't do this).
So then I had to explain to my newly 8yo with autism why we couldn't grt his DVD player. It's not "oh, just go back and pick another". My 8yo had personally chosen this one and had his mind set on it.
IF they do use "tester" DVD players (which, again, when I bought his TV (not long before, again, birthday present) then why was it never mentioned when I purchased the TV (nothing about testing was mentioned at all), and 2) WHY would it be in the MIDDLE of all of the other DVD players for sale? IF it were a tester then an employee should have been PRESENT and removed from the floor as SOON as they were done testing said tvs.
People may think, oh, that's petty. Try telling that to an 8yo with autism who was excited about being able to watch his favorite dvds.
I'm sure I'll end up finding a different one somewhere else, but that really isn't the point. This woman lied to my face. She or someone in the back probably wanted it for themselves. And that's really just very poor business practice. It shows how little they value customer service.
Also, it wasn't even just the fact she lied, it's how she did it. Sneaky....
Read moreI love this store. I haven't been in a couple months but In the pass I try to go 2-3 times a month. To me they have nice quality items. Some of the sofas has that solid foundation that needs cleaning or better still upholstery to give modern look. Wednesday is there senior discount day. They have kitchen cabinets that would be perfect in your kitchen at great price. Commodes. Washer dryers. Plenty of beds. Etc. Mine broke I immediately went there and found nice solid sturdy bed with no damage better than what I had. Paid $100.00 and got 10 percent discount. Don't remember why. LOL. The help there is excellent. Everyone eager to please. There is a black short lady there anytime I ever went. She has excellent customer service skills. God put her in the right profession. I could go on about this store but look like I'm writing a book. People don't read when they see lots of words. Miss out on the good stuff by...
Read moreWas in the Charlotte area a few months ago for another reason, but happened to pass by this ReStore and decided to stop in. I was surprised to stumble across a large selection of SharkBite fittings that were about 40% less than at Lowe’s or Home Depot, so I grabbed quite a few, as I’m just starting remodels on 2 bathrooms. But I am also looking for a new stair foyer hanging light, and they had a decent selection of that type, but the prices, for what they were, were way too high! Although not boxed (most were hanging up), they did appear to be new (like from a lighting store showroom remodel?), but the majority of them were priced the same - at $475! 😳 But I also did find a contemporary lead crystal bowl with a colored discount sticker that took its price down to $5, and I was happy to buy that...
