I'm very picky when it comes to Persian Food. At first glance, the place looks like a really cute deli that serves pizza and the like. (Good stuff). The sauce has a good balance of herbs and spices, like a good pizza sauce should! The crust was crisp with the perfect balance of airy softness and toppings were good quality. The menu is a perfect balance for the area. pizza orders were being called in every few min, it's a popular item here. But don't be fooled! I hit the jackpot. I ordered Persian food to go but, decided to sit down to sample the goods. I was not disappointed. The kabobs were moist and perfectly seasoned. The chicken breast kabobs were so tender and flavorful. The grilled tomato had that perfect char. The rice was fragrant, and fluffy with a hint of salt. The KaskeBadejan.. Melts in your mouth, floral olive oil, roasted eggplant, Carmelized onions, and they used Kaske. omg, it was just like my friend's Mother made. Excellent. They provided pita, raw onion, butter, and herbs. This is a big deal. If you know how to eat Persian food correctly, this is a sign of a traditional chef. I was in heaven. The owner is a warm and welcoming person. Cares about the customers and if they enjoyed the food. During our conversation, I found out that the owner keeps in contact with the chefs back in Iran. They discuss recipes and ingredients. always keeping up with traditional cooking. The location is low-key, with good parking, and a relaxing environment. Ordering is easy, the staff is friendly, the bathrooms are spotless, and tables and booths are deli-style seating. Drinks are cold, hot food is hot. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend going here. Try a bit of everything. I'm looking forward to dining here again.

Athens P&K is out on Old Monroe in a tiny shopping center in Matthews. The door is in the back in case you’re looking for a way in. We’ve been here twice. The kabobs are the star of the show. The Koobideh is moist with good flavor. The Chicken Kabobs are part of the combo if you want to mix it up. They come with rice and salad. There’s better pizza in the area but if you’re in the mood go for it. The fries were crispy and hot out of the fryer on both our visits. Parking is simple. It hasn’t been really crowded on our visits so no worries there. There aren’t many places in the Charlotte area that serve authentic Persian-style kabobs. It’s worth a trip if you have a craving for Koobideh.

Food is good here, no denying that. But be mindful that the prices listed on the menu at the restaurant (Paper menu AND the one on the board) are NOT accurate. I felt like we were being overcharged everytime we came here the past year, but never said anything . At a recent visit, when the tab was $20 over what was expected I finally said something- and she told me that the updated menu prices was on the website. So why still pass out the paper menus that we are ordering from? I don't necessarily think that's a fair business practice, but to each their own I guess.

Absolutely delicious Iranian cuisine! Athens Pizza has the best Kebobs from their ground beef koobideh Kebob to juicy delicious chicken breast kebob marinated to perfection and Shashlik so tender and tastefully marinated. Every weekends they have specials offering different one of kind famous Iranian stews and lamb shank with Lima beans rice, the lamb shank literally is the best in town so tasty and cooked to perfection it falls of the bone. They also offer a creamy eggplant appetizer called kashk-e bademjan great starter with pita bread. Hands down Athens is a great family owned restaurant with a kind and polite team always welcoming. If you’re looking for fresh food definitely stop by they also offer plenty of other dishes they are famous for, pizza is off the chain and gyros are delicious! Thank you guys so much for always serving...

Five Stars All the Way!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here with my family and some close friends, and I have to say—it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely amazing! Every dish was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with love and care. From start to finish, we were impressed with the quality and taste of everything we ordered.

What made the visit even more special was the owner. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. You can tell she truly care about her guests and take pride in what she do.

Thank you so much for your hospitality and for giving us such a wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this gem to...
