Morgan's Meat Market — Local services in Mattoon

Short Version: Very friendly staff, great selection and everything we've tried so far has been top notch!

Long Version: The wife and I drove @ 120 miles to visit as they are a Yoder Smokers dealer, upon arrival we perused the shop, but didn't see any smokers only the Yoder banner. While walking around looking at the food selection, the wife said she definitely wanted to pick up some of their frozen goods, I told her since we didn't have a cooler for transporting the frozen goods we'd drive to the local Wal-Mart and buy a cheap styrofoam cooler.

We asked the young lady running the register about the smokers, she said they currently didn't have any in stock, but we could talk to Mike, the owner, who had just stepped out of the back of the store about them.

Talking to Mike he told of us they were sold out, but he did have one in another building similar to the model we were interested in, and walked us over so we could see it. After discussing it and deciding we wanted one, Mike told us how long the wait time would be since Yoder currently has a large backlog on orders and he'd be happy to put our name on the list, he then gave us a great tip on how we might be able to find one sooner, which we did the next day. He then offered us a styrofoam cooler that they receive their ice cream in to save a trip to Wal-Mart, and gave us a peek of the big smoker they use to smoke meats for the store.

We filled up a cart with a wide selection of foods, which in turn filled up the cooler. Everything we've eaten from there has been delicious, so good in fact that we returned again the following week and left with another cooler full. As an added bonus the cooler works great as a poor mans Cambro for resting meats from our new smoker for hours before serving!

Even though it's a long drive, the staff is so friendly and the food is so good, that I'm sure we'll be making the trip many more times in the future as there is nothing comparable...

I had stopped and checked out this company's meat selection over a year ago I thought their meat looked really delicious and inviting but I did not make a purchase at that time. A year went by and we decided that Walmart and other stores meats were not delicious or seem to be filled with chemicals that gave the meat an odd flavor. I purchased the $159 bundle this past month and incorporated that into my food bill for the month I have got to say Morgan's your meat is outstanding the flavor is very tasty the meat does not have any slime, odd textures, discoloration every piece of meat was hand wrapped with care, not to mention Morgan's has a full meat store with many other products they offer lots of things they don't carry else where I'll be a repeat...

You have to visit here just to get yourself one of the amazing Fluffy burgers! 8 oz od mouth watering beef decadence! So many varieties, you'll spend some time to figure out your next flavor adventure! The meat case seems like it is a mile long! Don't see a cut you like? Just ask! They will accommodate you!
