I just left 15 minutes into what was supposed to be a relaxing deep tissue couples massage. An absolutely awful experience. First of all, when you walk into this place, it’s a MESS. It’s overwhelming. There is just stuff everywhere! Nowhere for guests to sit and wait for their service. Which makes for an uncomfortable impression right off the bat. Then one of our massage therapists was late to the appointment. We had called and asked to get a 3pm massage and were told they only had 2:30pm available, so we rushed in and then ended up waiting an extra 15-20 minutes on the table for this person to arrive to their appointment. Keep in mind, you can hear the toilets flushing for the public bathrooms through the walls in this service room for the MALL; it was frequent and loud and not exactly what you imagine relaxing in a day spa would be...Then my therapist storms in and immediately puts the sheet over my body and just begins rushing into this service before the other massage therapist is ready to begin on my significant other. So, what’s supposed to be a relaxing transition into this massage is now muffled by them chatting about how he wants his massage and my therapist rushing through the first phase of this service... My therapist should have been asking which parts of my body were bothering me during this introduction and should have eased me into relaxation in a calm manner. This lady had so much tension in her body and was very high strung, that it felt like she was transferring her negative energy into my massage. There was ZERO flow. It was all over the place. Lackluster performance would be putting this experience lightly. I felt SO uncomfortable. So after she asked me how her pressure was the first go around, I politely told her she could go deeper into my muscles. About five minutes into this lady’s service with weird placement of her elbows and forearms, I had enough, I wasn't going to spend over $100 on this massage and sit there through this for an hour. So I told her, I felt uncomfortable and I wanted her to stop the service. Instead of being an understanding professional, she stomped her feet, threw her hands up rudely and said to the other therapist and I quote, “she feels uncomfortable, I don’t know what to do, this girl came in irritated to her service to begin with.” And stormed out to go talk badly about me to the other workers out front. Keep in mind, those walls are paper thin. I could hear their entire conversation. So after quietly dressing myself, I walked to the front and much to my surprise all three employees; one of which is the OWNER were standing/sitting there with their arms crossed STARING at me, waiting for some sort of explanation as to WHY I felt the need to stop this service. I felt attacked by them surrounding me and being completely rude to me while I was trying to explain to them why I felt so uncomfortable... Then After the rude comments and rude tone in their interrogation, as I was walking out the door the owner yells across the room, “It’s all about communication girl!!” In a catty tone. Offering zero apologies for this experience on their part. What a nightmare this place is.. do yourself a favor & DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Those people...

My husband and I just finished with our couples massage at Beauty Spa Maui. We cannot say enough great things about this place. The receptionist was very welcoming. Ruth and Marie are FANTASTIC massage therapists. I’ve had a lot of massages back home but this one was significantly better. Husband and I went for massages. Started in the aqua room where it was really kinda cool! It was nice to relax before our deep tissue massages. The massages were incredible!! We both had amazing technicians that worked us pretty good! Everyone was polite, helpful and kind. Highly recommend! They could use a changing room though.
