Magnolia House, LLC — Local services in Mayfield

I purchased a Birthday gift certificate for my wife from this business in Sept of 2020. It was supposedly good for one year. This week, my wife tried to redeem the certificate and she was told that it was no longer valid because the technician who provided those services no longer worked there. The owner states that she allows micro-businesses to operate within her building and that I purchased a certificate from one of those vendors and Magnolia House is not responsible. She suggested that we try to chase down this vendor and get our money back. It turns out that this technician left in Oct so my card was only valid for 30 days, not one year.

This is her business. I walked through her front door, The Magnolia House, and asked for a gift certificate. A woman took my credit card and charged me $72. No one made mention of the fact that this card was from a micro-vendor and that the card was only good as long as that vendor stayed there. This is a highly deceptive and unethical business practice. The owner is hiding behind a flawed policy and has no honor or business principles. She should have made this right from the very beginning. Only because my granddaughter ask me not to take pictures; is the reason that I can't post one. The wonderful experience she had; can only be the comfort that the ethicists gave. I will be a new customer because of our granddaughter's experience!
