I decided to stop here while doing a review at a Mexican restaurant down the street. I mean... it's a candy store, what's not to like? Before I go into the review about the store, I am going to address something that I read in the reviews before entering the store. The price of the per pound candy. So, the question is: Is $15.00/lb for candy pricy? As an economics major, I did some research and here's my conclusion. Simple answer: no... but allow me to explain to you why. In 2010, The New York times wrote a piece about various candy stores in NYC and in regard to a store called "Dewey's", candy was priced at $10.99/lb. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/29/nyregion/29candy.html Now, you may be like me and think to yourself, "well them there are big city prices" So, I researched further. In the same year, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette wrote an article about a candy store in Rogers, Arkansas that sold a "The Half-Pound Sampler" of candy the was $5.50 per half lb. or $11.00/lb... and that's in small town Arkansas. (https://www.nwaonline.com/news/2010/jan/22/sweets-sweet-20100122/) Using an inflation calculator $11 in 2010 is worth $15.92 today. (https://www.in2013dollars.com/us/inflation/2010?amount=11) So, if anything, the prices are too cheap. Not to mention you are paying for the ability to mix and match. One of everything? Yes please. Or a whole bag of your favorite. Go for it. An antidotal example and I'll move on: I find Subway too expensive. About a year ago, I wanted some sub sandwiches and decided to go DIY to "save money" Well, guess what. When it was all said and done, it was well over 30 bucks for two DIY subs b/c I had to buy EVERYTHING. Whole tomatoes, a head of lettuce, a half lb of this deli meat and that meat, condiments, and all the other veggies. The point is you can get one piece of a bunch of different candies instead of buying 10 full bags of all the candy you want, and you pay a so called "premium" to do so. Now onto the rest of the review Atmosphere: Nostalgic. Why? Because it's a candy store! The very idea of a candy store will bring back a nostalgic childlike feeling to just about anyone. (hint: you won't find red and white stripes, a soda fountain and candy in wooden barrels. Don't confuse vintage for nostalgia) Service: I met the owner, and we talked for a good while. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into the business. I learned she has been in the candy business for close to two decades. Selection: LOTS of candy to choose from. While there is a "nostalgic/vintage" candy selection (Think candy cigarettes, zagnut bars, mallow cups etc) they have so much more. A large selection of gummies, hard and soft candy, chocolaty, fruity, big and small. They also have plenty of items you've never seen before along with a few cases in the front with a selection of fresh candy. For your safety, they provide plastic gloves to wear while putting together your candy bag. The jars of candy are "per pound" pricing, and the other candy is priced individually. There is a scale to weigh your bag to see where you're at so you don't get caught off guard and then come back to google review and complain. Go ahead and treat yourself to a little something special. When you walk into the store, leave the rest of the world behind briefly and bring back a feeling from your childhood. I mean... you will feel like a kid in a candy store (with adult money... WINNING!)

I came to Gastonia to see an old friend, well in town we went down to main Street and had a wonderful lunch at an Italian restaurant and then stopped here to look around, because.... CANDY 🍬🍭. The young lady who waited on us was very knowledgeable and very friendly. They have an amazing selection of bulk candy, when i say amazing selection i mean any kind of variety you could possibly want!!! They have a large wall of candy I haven't seen since i was a kid. Do yourself a favor and at least get nostalgic for a minute.... you'll thank me! I loved the peanut butter malt balls.

Great customer service. They offer a variety of candy and it brought me back to being a little girl with my mom in a candy store coveting Swedish Fish or Penny candy. They have fresh ice cream!!! Cone, waffle cone, and cups! It was delicious....
